March: ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Beyond

Generative AI, such as ChatGPT, is advancing rapidly and opening up new possibilities for businesses. This month, which culminated in a virtual roundtable on the topic 'ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Beyond', VisionAIres was a-buzz with theories and strategies that came down to three key points:

  • Determining Appropriate Use Cases - key areas such as content creation, customer service, or language translation are in hot contention.
  • Building a Data Strategy?- as Oren Etzioni, Chief Executive Officer for the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence, once said "AI is only as good as the data it has access to. You can't have strong AI without strong data. Companies need to think about what data they need, how they're going to collect it, and how they're going to store and manage it."
  • Talent and Trust -?with the news of the ChatGPT Bug that exposed users’ chat history, the demand for companies to be clear on their policies is increasing.

Talk has also turned to the Future of Life Institute (FLI) open letter on pausing giant AI experiments. Currently signed by over 100 C-Suite executives, and notably Elon Musk, it argues against the "move fast and break things" mentality that is often demonstrated in big tech. We'd love to hear your thoughts, or if you'd like to contribute anonymously, vote in our poll on the matter!

And taking the discussion off-screen, members Adri P. , James Fletcher , and Jason Anderson are hosting the upcoming panel, 'What Does ChatGPT Mean for the Future of Business?' taking place on 14 June. Hope to see you there!

If this type of discussion piques your interest, please speak to Angja Kanotra about access to the group.
