Happy Women's History Month! The Policy Circle’s national community of 15,000 is full of women leaders tackling tough issues and positively impacting their communities. So, let's celebrate the women who challenge and motivate us - from the past, present, and future.


REAL ACTIVATION

Full Circle Leadership Series Event | During this quarterly program focused on building strategic and tactical skills, Maggie Baczkowski, Founder and Board Chair of Strides for Peace, shared valuable insights on how her organization mobilizes community groups to end gun violence in Chicago. If you missed this program, click here to watch the replay. Maggie's passion for building safer American cities will give you hope and spark solutions for your hometown.?


CLER Has Started | Over three months, these women in CLER 1.0, 2.0, and Education will enhance their leadership abilities, civic knowledge, and community impact. CLER is The Policy Circle's unique, flexible program that launches women into influential roles to improve their communities. Thanks to generous support from the Hoffman Foundation, The Policy Circle will continue to empower women from the military community. In 2023, 110 women completed a new mission to become civic leaders. Please share this opportunity with those in your network who have served or are a military spouse.

Day At The Capitol: TENNESSEE | Instead of hosting our annual leadership summit, this year, The Policy Circle is hitting the road to engage with our members and partners at?state capitols throughout the U.S.?Join us for a Day at the Capitol in Nashville, Tennessee on March 6th for a day of learning and connecting.

  • Tour the Capitol and meet policymakers
  • Lunch conversation with the American Federation for Children on parental empowerment in education
  • Afternoon panels focused on securing appointments to boards and commissions and a fireside chat on rural healthcare innovation.?
  • Evening reception at the Tennessee Governor's Residence with Governor Lee.

Women & Economic Freedom Initiative: DALLAS | The Policy Circle is hosting an event with the Bridwell Institute at Southern Methodist University focused on Women & Economic Freedom. A reception and conversation featuring top economists and women business leaders will be at SMU on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

We will unpack the realities of women attaining more financial freedom and leadership roles in business. We will also examine the impact of mandates vs. access to economic opportunities. Men and women are welcome at this event.

Leader Spotlight

Congratulations to Policy Circle Board Member Barbara Stewart for her appointment to the Maryland Governor's Commission on Service and Volunteerism. Barbara is a long-time friend of The Policy Circle, a recent CLER graduate, and a vital part of the successful CLER outreach program. Barbara is living The Policy Circle mission and inspires us all.

Military Leader Spotlight

Dr. Caroline Fermin : Lieutenant Colonel, Retired, USMC

Caroline, a member of her local Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Military Enhancement Committee, joined a task force to repurpose a 1940s Naval Hospital facing closure. Appointed as an ex-officio member, she brought her 25 years of planning expertise from the US Marine Corps to the table. Now, with the committee's vision to repurpose the property, thousands of citizens will benefit from it.
