March 2024: The Spotlight Shines Bright

March is Women's History Month; throughout history, women have elevated themselves across all aspects. Because of that grit and determination, our spotlight is as bright today as it was in the past. And we're not done. Storytelling can amplify spotlights and can further drive people to your cause. The power of words is what's going to capture people's hearts and minds. What this month has taught me is that the spotlight I garner is what's going to attract attention. Whatever I do needs to deliver a proper purpose. I'm curious to hear from you; what's your view on spotlights? How do you utilize it? Why does our spotlight matter?
Wow, it's already ten editions? My, how time flies! Honestly, THANK YOU for following my adventures and enjoying the content. Also, it's spring, which means renewal! The sweet air of flowers, birds, warm weather, and fresh optimism!
Cheers,
Yesenia
Y Communicate Makes Its Formal Introduction at the Marketing 2.0 Conference
From March 18 through March 20, Y Communicate introduced itself to the advertising world at the Marketing 2.0 Conference . The three-day event, which took place at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV, gathered thousands of the brightest marketing minds, game-changers, influencers, and experts to discuss the sector's future, content creation and groundbreaking technologies.
On Tuesday, March 19, the Marketing 2.0 team awarded Yesenia the "Outstanding Leadership Award" to celebrate her contributions to the industry, influential voice, and rising leadership prominence. This award cements the work and purpose of our work. Through Y Communicate, we will bring corporate communications back to its essence—storytelling—and disrupt the scene.
Then, on Wednesday, March 20, Yesenia participated in a fantastic 3-person panel alongside It's Front Porch 's Julie Porter and Ruvna 's Macey Price Belter . Titled "Creating a Brand Voice: Consistency in Communications Across Platforms," the discussion centered on formulating a brand voice and how to keep it consistent across communications mediums.

Reflection from Argo Vibes
For every organization, transparency matters. No matter the sector. In times of crisis, your methods to handle the situation will forever cement your credibility with the public. What we also see in times of crisis is how communities come together, showing empathy for one another and treating everyone with respect. Being a step ahead and prepared emphasizes leadership. As storytellers, crisis communications practice establishes trust with the public, communicates effectively with all parties rapidly, and has immediate concrete solutions to fix the issue.
All organizations must establish their crisis teams and communications plans. Confirm facts only, and ensure your spokesperson is fully trained to deliver key points and answer questions. To deliver any necessary corporate communications messaging in a crisis, the four must-have components are 1. trust, 2. compassion, 3. stability, and 4. hope. Never speculate the facts.
Over the past few days, we witnessed the news of the collapse of Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland. My thoughts are with the people of Baltimore and those affected by this collapse. We have seen a community take immediate action to address and tackle a tragedy that has affected millions. Effective strategic crisis communications foster transparency, openness, and accountability for all critical officials and institutions. For the people of Baltimore, the Francis Scott Key Bridge is more than just a bridge. It's a vital part of its identity and history. A lifeline that connects communities and serves as a reminder of our resourceful capabilities to infrastructure and safety. The bridge is a symbol of American resiliency—part of their story.
In this special feature, Samonee K. of Argo Vibes reflects on the Francis Scott Key Bridge tragedy and its legacy.
