March 2024 Newsletter

Dear Colleagues,

Anyone else trying to remind themselves this is a marathon not a sprint, but it feels like this is the fastest marathon you’ve ever ran? Transforming our food system is exhausting sometimes! But exciting nonetheless

Littlefoot Academy's inaugural cohort has launched! Yesterday's introductions left me in awe – this diverse group includes food systems strategists, journalists, school food advocates, policy experts, and more from around the world. With leaders like these, I am confident in the transformation of our food system.??

Current happenings in our ecosystem:

  • The Upcycled Food Association appointed 1% for the Planet and Earthshare alum, Amanda Oenbring,?as the new CEO. This appointment was my last to-do as President of the Upcycled Food Foundation Board, completing my term after 2.5 years. A big thank you to the outgoing CEO, Angie Crone, and outgoing Association President Caroline Cotto, my dear friends and colleagues, for everything you have done for the upcycled movement!
  • April 4 kicks off?Chef Ann Foundation's three-part webinar series:?“Healthy School Food for Thought”. The first installment focuses on the intersection of food policy and child nutrition with insights from food policy expert, Emily Broad Leib of the Harvard Law Food Law and Policy Clinic, and Chef Ann Cooper and Mara Fleishman from the Chef Ann Foundation.?Registration?is free!
