Many companies in our industry today are dealing with equipment and tool theft. Our client Stiles had me speak this week to their employees about some solutions to help combat tool theft. Some ideas include: using high-viz paint on some part of the tool, engraving your company name and tracking number on tools, remove batteries from tools to deter thieves, lock tools up daily in job box in the field or in your truck, invest in new lockable power tools with an app, install small tracking devices or tags, add interior deadbolts to work trucks, installing truck alarm system, installing wheel locks on trailer tires, parking vehicles in well lite areas and finally, if you see suspicious activity, report it.
