What happened in the digital space this week?

Welcome to my weekly newsletter, where I curate and aggregate social media features updates, tech news, digital trends, and weekly insights to keep you updated and informed!

This week many news feature updates came from Meta as we celebrated International Women's Day on 8th March. Before we get started. I want to celebrate every woman out there.

Now, let's head to some of the stories that happened in the digital space week

Meta


1.A?Twitter?like app by?Meta? #Meta?is in the early stages of building a decentralized app codenamed P92 for people to post text-based updates. According to Platformer News, the app will allow users to log in through their existing Instagram credentials.

2. Meta pauses Instagram and Facebook Reels Play bonus programme that lets creators earn money on their Reels content to focus on a revenue share system instead. Platforms like TikTok and YouTube have a revenue-sharing system for creators.


3. Instagram is testing the ability to post a GIF as a comment. The GIF icon will appear at the right of the Text Box, as announced by the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri

3. Grooves that automatically align and sync motion in your video to the beat

TikTok

4. TikTok , has launched Series, a paywall feature allowing creators to charge their fans for access to their longer videos. Creators will charge between 99 cents to $189.99?


5. Denmark's public service broadcaster is among the recent countries and regions to call for the ban of TikTok on staff devices, while the TikTok Ban across the US is still on the rise. Here is everything you need to know about the TikTok ban in the U.S.

6.YouTube?to remove overlay ads starting April 6, 2023, to help improve the viewer experience and shift engagement to higher-performing ad formats on desktop and mobile devices.

7. Microsoft?Bing has crossed 100M Daily Active Users since the launch of AI-powered Bing and Edge a month ago. Other insights they have seen:

  • 1/3 of the millions of users are new
  • More engagements
  • Average of 3 chats per session and 45 million total chats
  • 1.6X increase in the daily active users on mobile

8. ChatGPT by OpenAI is coming to?Slack, owned by?Salesforce! On Tuesday, the company announced that the Conversational AI would deliver instant conversation summaries, research tools, and writing assistance directly in Slack to help millions of companies work more productively.

9. Spotify is rolling out a new TikTok-like Home Feed on the #Spotify app where you’ll find personalized, curated previews of the songs, podcasts, and audiobooks you might enjoy.

10. Early this week, Twitter was down due to an API issue. Also, Elon Musk announced in a Tweet that Twitter would soon introduce 10,000 character tweet. Currently, Twitter Blue Subscribers can post tweets of up to 4,000 characters. Normal Twitter allows users to tweet posts of 280 characters. What's your view on long-form Tweets?
