Mapting is a free mobile App to discover the Sustainable Development Goals and promote sustainable actions and projects through picture & video sharing. Download the App via Play Store or App Store to share your individual actions to initiate change to more care and respect for the community of life, ecological integrity, social and economic justice and democracy, non-violence and peace around the world.
Conversations about the future of our planet often emphasize the problems or perilous trends we are facing. With Mapting, we change the focus of the conversation and show that solutions exist. We spread a positive message by sharing pictures and videos of every action taken to achieve the SDGs.
The story behind Mapting is one of a strong partnership between two organizations - Soka Gakkai International and Earth Charter International - and the core belief that one individual's action can make a difference. While the concept of the app, as it is today, was born in Costa Rica early 2016, the process that led to it started nearly 15 years ago with the coproduction of two worldwide exhibitions, "Seeds of Change" in 2002 and "Seeds of Hope" in 2012, highlighting ordinary individuals who took action to initiate change. This specific approach is what laid the foundations of Mapting, the rest was a lot of brainstorming sessions, countless e-mails, lots of coding and great team work.
