Map Monday: Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! (Monday, April 22, 2019.) Two of my favorite things happen every April, National Poetry Month, and Earth Day! Add in Map Monday and now you have three great things all rolled into one.

This weekend my son was watching a new viral music video by Lil Dicky called Earth and the launch of a companion website (welovetheearth.org) to get more information. In just a few days, it has gotten nearly 22 million views. Although I do need to give you a heads up that it isn't rated G in terms of content or language, it is certainly worth celebrating Earth Day with a poem, and to me the best songs really are poetry! As you can see from the headline graphic, and the graphic link to the video below, it's filled with animated representations of the earth. I call that a map.

So on this Map Monday - that happens to fall on Earth Day, and in National Poetry Month, enjoy the maps, some poetry, and a video to celebrate the Earth! And make sure you do your part to become part of the solution!
