The Power of Messenger Marketing: A Guide to Boosting Engagement and Sales

So you posted content on social media but your DMs are going crazy on Instagram and Facebook. If that’s happening, then check this out.

What’s going on? My name is Rock, CEO of LeadBreeze. If you love everything digital marketing, social media automation, and online business, then this is the place to be. Today, we’re going to talk about messenger marketing.

Messenger marketing is taking a chatbot and using it to engage with your ideal customers on interfaces like Facebook and Instagram. This is highly important for three distinct reasons:

1. Increases Customer Engagement: The more people you have engaging in your DMs, the more likely they are to move down the sales process.

2. Highly Personalized Messaging: For example, if you run a product-based business and create two specific product types, depending on the message they tap, they can get a follow-up message based on the original one that they selected. This provides a tailor-made experience specifically for them.

3. Automation: How many times have you seen someone post a call to action saying, "Comment 'grow' for my XYZ course," only to never get it? This is because they don’t have the right automation in place and they’re probably sitting down somewhere, DMing people individually for about an hour or an hour and a half. If you want to streamline this process and know the software I use to automate everything when it comes to my DMs, watch the second half of this video. You’re in for a treat!

Alright, so now we are on our Manychat dashboard. In order to use Manychat in the best way possible, you need to make a pro account. Once you do a free trial, it’s like one click, you pay the $15, and then you’re good to go.

Step-by-Step Breakdown: Setting Up Manychat for Surveys and Applications

1. Log into Manychat Dashboard: Ensure you have a pro account.

2. Navigate to Automation: From the home screen, click on 'Automation'.

3. Create a New Flow: Click the blue 'New Flow' button at the top.

4. Start from Scratch: Select 'Start from Scratch' for a fresh setup.

5. Set Up Triggers:

- Choose the trigger for your action (e.g., Instagram keyword, comments).

- For this example, select 'IG live comments'.

6. Add Keyword Trigger:

- Enter the keyword (e.g., 'grow').

- Ensure 'message is' is selected to prevent accidental triggers.

7. Create Instagram Message:

- Click 'Instagram Message'.

- Scroll down and select 'User Input'.

8. Ask Your Question:

- Type your question (e.g., “How old are you?”).

- Select 'Number' as the reply type.

- Save the response as a custom field (e.g., 'age').

9. Add Additional Questions: Repeat steps for additional questions (e.g., income, referral source).

The second question we added is income. You can make multiple choice answers for this as well. For example, 10K, 20K, 30K. We added 'income'. Later on, you can make conditions: if someone answers this way, they get this message; if they answer that way, they get sent here. We’re not going into details of that because that’s already covered in our Manychat course, but just imagine the possibilities with this information.

Step-by-Step Breakdown: Using Manychat for Conversation Starters

1. Navigate to Settings: Go to Settings, then select 'Instagram Account'.

2. Select Conversation Starters: Click on 'Conversation Starters'.

3. Create a Flow:

- Add conversation starters (e.g., “What services do you provide?”).

- Create flows for each starter (e.g., provide a link to your Facebook group).

Let’s say someone wants access to my free Facebook community. Once they click that button, they get put into a flow where we give them the link to our Facebook group. Now they don’t have to wait for someone to respond. This is how you get traffic without direct interaction.

Step-by-Step Breakdown: Using Keywords for Booking

1. Go to Automation: Navigate to Automation and hit 'New Flow'.

2. Start from Scratch: Select 'Start from Scratch' like before.

3. Select Instagram Keyword: Choose 'Instagram Keyword'.

4. Set Message Trigger: Ensure 'message is' is selected.

5. Add Keyword: Enter your keyword (e.g., 'book').

6. Create Response:

- Type a response message (e.g., “Thanks for your interest. Here’s the booking link.”).

- Add a button to open a website.

- Paste your booking link.

That’s the power of using Manychat. That’s the power of messenger marketing. There are tons of other things you can do with e-commerce and tracking your actual sales, but for demonstration purposes, we covered these three basic things. Thanks again for checking out the article. This is Rock, and I’ll see you in the next one ????.
