???New Anthropic model, same confusing name

Anthropic, in its never-ending quest to one-up OpenAI and Google, has unleashed Claude 3.5 Sonnet, a new AI model that supposedly outperforms its rivals in almost every way imaginable. While the company's bizarre naming conventions remain a mystery, the model's impressive benchmarks and newfound sense of humor might just make it a worthy contender in the ever-evolving AI arms race. But let's not get too excited – after all, these things change faster than you can say "GPT-4o."

???You can't profit from the end of the world... or can you?

Look who has (finally!) flown the OpenAI coop! Ilya Sutskever, the AI safety guru, is back with his very own?AI safety company. This time, he's ditching the non-profit model and embracing the for-profit world. Who knew saving the world could be so lucrative? But hey, if anyone can make AI safety both profitable and exciting, it's probably the guy who co-led OpenAI's Superalignment team. And judging by the investor buzz, it seems like plenty of folks are willing to bet their money on him. After all, what's a little capitalism when the fate of humanity is at stake?

???Lights, camera... no action

In a classic case of "be careful what you wish for," The Prince Charles Cinema axed the premiere of The Last Screenwriter,?a film written entirely by ChatGPT, after receiving a wave of complaints. Seems like even AI can't escape a bit of pre-release drama. Director Peter Luisi, unsurprised yet unfazed, intends to release the film online for free, perhaps proving that AI's biggest enemy is not human, but human reaction.

@-Mentions in Comment Threads

Last week we talked about comment threads, and this week we've added @-mentions so you can tag specific people to make the conversation as efficient and impactful as possible. Mentionees will get notifications (with a link directly to the comment) when they're tagged, so they know there is something that requires their attention on an RFP. For more information on how to take advantage of this new feature, read our?documentation.
