The King's Awards for Enterprise have been announced, with some of the UK’s best manufacturers among those who were recognised. Minister for Enterprise, Kevin Hollinrake MP said: “I congratulate the recipients of this year’s King’s Awards for Enterprise, who exemplify the talent, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of British business.” Find out who the winners were in the story below.???
In other news, ERIKS has received over 2,500 applications for its apprenticeship programme in only its second year. It began in 2023 with 13 engineering apprentices being taken on at ERIKS service centres across the UK. ???

The Manufacturer Skills Awards?
The winner of the 2024 Enginuity Skills Awards Trophy Design Competition has been announced as Arron Wilcock, a Reliability Maintenance Engineering Apprentice at Amazon, who is part of a Manufacturing Technology Centre?(MTC) Training Apprenticeship Programme. Arron’s trophy will be handed out to winners at the Enginuity Skills Awards ceremony on 5 June.?

According to a report entitled ‘The True Impact of UK Manufacturing,’ the sector is having a far greater impact on the UK economy than first thought. As part of Make UK’s call for a clear industrial strategy from government, CEO, Stephen Phipson believes that growing manufacturing’s contribution to GDP by 5% should be a fundamental part of the plan.?
