UK economic growth will be 'robust' in 2024, leading think tank says.
The UK has risen in the rankings of the G7 nations to have the joint second-highest economic growth for this year, the think tank OECD - OCDE has predicted. The economy is now expected to grow by 1.1%, the same rate as Canada and France, but behind the US.
The OECD, which is a globally recognised think tank, said that economic growth had been "relatively robust" in many countries, including the UK. But it added: "Significant risks remain. Persisting geopolitical and trade tensions could increasingly damage investment and raise import prices."
Lean Management - Getting the most from Gemba
Gemba is a key concept in Lean management, particularly in manufacturing. The word "Gemba" is a Japanese term that translates to "the actual place" or "the real place." In the context of Lean manufacturing, Gemba refers to the place where value is created, often the factory floor.?
This article explores the concept of Gemba in Lean management and how it drives continuous improvement on the shop floor. Whether you're new to Lean or looking for a refresher, this article will show you how Gemba can enhance productivity, eliminate waste, and foster a culture of collaboration and problem-solving.
Communicate FourJaw on your factory floor
?Organisational change of any kind can be received differently by people within the business, for example, when implementing a new technology, it's natural that some people may be more cautious than others when it comes to getting on board with it.
?To help customers of FourJaw, we have created a series of posters that explain the technology, how and why the business has chosen it, and most importantly, how it makes life easier on the factory floor.?

Armac Martin's Head of Operations discusses Factory Digitisation
From humble beginnings as a business of local brass founder Harold McGrail who manufactured reproduction furniture fittings, Armac Martin is now an award-winning, fourth-generation family business and a leading name in the global luxury interiors industry.
Although their craftsmanship has been built over the last century, today the business has digitised many of its operational systems, enabling it to increase manufacturing output to keep up with customer demand and simultaneously support investment decisions and sustainability initiatives.?
Earlier this year, we sat down with Steven West, the person responsible for overseeing the systems operations, technology and process improvement teams to hear more about their digitisation journey.
Check out what Steven had to say.
