Manufacturers' Alliance Embraces the 4 Day Week

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! As of this month, May 2022, we will be trialing a 4 day week with the Manufacturers Alliance office based team. Our office will be open Monday – Thursday, 8:30am – 6:00pm and closed on Friday’s. Therefore the team will be working longer days over the 4 days. We plan to run the trial for 3 months and hopefully make this a permanent working culture.

Why are we doing this? For our team to feel fulfilled, we believe that as well as enjoying our roles and working in a positive and supportive environment, we need a healthy work / life balance. The 4 day working week and 3 day weekend offers:

• An opportunity to increase employee wellbeing and happiness
• More quality time employees can spend with family
• More time for hobbies, household chores and getting stuff done before the official weekend begins
• More time to rest and switch off from work
• A opportunity for higher productivity levels
• A reduced carbon footprint

A bank holiday weekend every weekend! Think about it. How great do we all feel when we have enjoyed a bank holiday 3 day weekend.

Due to the adoption of many new technologies throughout the pandemic and our high levels of customer satisfaction, we don’t feel that closing the office on a Friday will impact our relationships with customers or our business performance. We think it will improve, but until we trial it, we’re never going to know.
