Manual QA Test Engineer

V-Soft Consulting is currently seeking a Manual QA Test Engineer for our premier client. This is a contract position lasting between one to three months. Candidates must be available to work onsite at least two days per week in Itasca, IL, collaborating closely with Software Developers.

Summary:

Responsibilities will include testing and verifying react.js, node.js, and angular code, reporting defects, coordinating with architects, functional analysts, and developers on testing outcomes, documenting test scripts, participating in design reviews, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities. This role involves working in an Agile environment, participating in scrum ceremonies, and contributing to product planning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct various types of testing, including data validation, functional, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Develop and maintain project testing infrastructure.
• Write detailed test scripts, test reports, and analyses.
• Participate in the end-to-end software development lifecycle.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, follow test plans and scripts, and manage time effectively.
• Collaborate with the product design and development teams to define testing parameters.
• Create test plans, test cases, test procedures, bug reports, and final QA reports.
• Troubleshoot errors and optimize test procedures.
• Ensure system security against cybersecurity threats.
• Collaborate with software developers to ensure compliance with established processes and functionality.
• Document the current state of the environment, conduct gap analysis, and produce artifacts detailing options and recommendations.
• Collaborate with teams to enhance testing processes continuously.
• Provide regular status updates and cross-train other team members.

Key Requirements:

• 3 years of proven experience as a manual tester.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• 3 years of application testing experience in an Agile environment.
• Proficiency with bug-tracking systems such as JIRA.
• Experience in writing test scripts and test reports.
• Preferred: Experience with react.js, node.js, and Angular testing.
