Baptism in fire for the run.event self-service check-in kiosks at ECS2024 in Germany
It was a big week for run.events: For the first time, we have used our self-service check-in kiosks on a scale, at a large event (co-located European Collaboration Summit and European Cloud Summit). The proclaimed goal was to check in 3000 attendees in 45 minutes, and I couldn’t be happier that it worked as a charm!
Average check-in time was 8 seconds per attendee.
Some key points to how it was done:
There wasn’t a queue longer than 5 attendees waiting for registration at any point of time – self-service registration was a full success.
This marks an important next step for run.events, since we know that we can offer a superb event check-in experience to all our customers. Even better, with run.events it is now possible to have early/dislocated attendee check-in, such as at the arrival airports, major hotels around the venue, etc.
I am deeply thankful to ECS.EVENTS for doing this together with us, and I am beyond happy about all the feedback.
See you at the next event!

Self-service check-in kiosks for the win! ??
For us at run.events, the self-service check-in kiosks were the absolute highlight at ECS last week. This newly introduced way to let attendees check in and get their badges without any staff assistance, fully on their own, enabled over 3000 people to enter the event in about 8 seconds per person. Just think about the amount of mental relief for everyone. Not having to show up super early at the venue, no long queues and waiting times, no stressing over potentially missing out on the opening keynote, just a hassle-free event experience from the very first moment.

The most effective marketing channels for promoting your events in 2024
Earlier this month, we did a poll on LinkedIn last week asking about your most effective ways to promote events. The majority answered "Organic social media" and "Email marketing & newsletters" (40% each), so here are some useful resources to utilize these channels with run.events.
Leverage your social media audience to boost your ticket sales organically. How? It's SO EASY – prepare a graphic for your speakers, sponsors, or attendees (you can use our pre-made templates) and share the link with your audience. That's it. From there on it only takes two clicks, literally, for your followers to share the news about attending your event and invite their friends to join them with an optional discount code.
Emails are not the only way you can reach out to your audience via run.events. Next to email communication, we also offer push notifications, surveys and polls, in-app displays, and much more. The possibilities to gather feedback from your network, and ultimately use that feedback for your event's growth are enormous, trust us.
From our blog:
Whether you opt for attended registration desks or self-service kiosks, the key lies in selecting the right combination of hardware - tablets, printers, and stands - that aligns with your event's requirements.?
Understanding risk factors is the first step towards tackling risk at your conference. Risk management is an important topic in conference planning, as failing to recognize potential problems can significantly affect many areas.?
It is of utmost importance that the calls for content are open, transparent, and fair. The reasons for this are very obvious, yet there are so many events that spectacularly miss the chance to do it right.
