Today, I want to impart a mantra that has been a cornerstone of my journey from my twenties to the innovator I am today. It goes, "Those who want to find a way; those who don't find an excuse."?
Learned during my formative years as a scout leader in Italy, these words echo in my mind each time I'm inclined to say no. Sometimes, they weigh on me like the sword of Damocles—a stark reminder when I renounce opportunities that beckon. Yet, this burdensome thought compels me to introspect, to prioritize more discerningly, whether it's deciding to dine with friends, attend an event, or tackle a daily task at work. This mantra is a constant nudge, reminding me that we all have the same 24 hours in a day. The outcomes we achieve are a testament to how we utilize this time.
In the realms of startups, corporations, and organizations, we often default to 'no' too readily, and 'yes' seems an arduous ascent. The reasons? Perpetually trivial—rooted in 'how things have always been done,' company policy, or perceived lack of time and manpower. Yet, these challenges are not unique; they are universal. The differential lies in response—there are those who find ways to leave these issues in their wake and those who remain ensnared in the web of excuses, stalling progress.
"We must find the way to solve problems. Our world is replete with unused solutions, methodologies abound, technology is at our fingertips, and creativity is limitless for crafting new solutions. Yet, we persist in concocting excuses not to apply them, not to step out of our daily quandaries. It's time for a change."
The mantra I share with you is not just a call to personal action but a rallying cry for innovation leaders. We navigate an ecosystem brimming with potential, cradling the seeds of transformation that, if sown, could redefine our reality. So, why do we so often linger at the cusp of innovation, shackled by the inertia of excuses?

The key to unlocking true innovation lies not in the grandeur of ideas but in the simplicity of action—of shifting from the comfort of excuses to the resolve of solutions. It's about embracing the black sheep mentality, to challenge, to innovate, and to foresee shifts in paradigms, ensuring our survival and growth.
Let us rise above the "because that's how it's always been done," and instead ask, "how can we do this differently?" In our hands lies the power to innovate, to forge paths uncharted, and to craft the future with intention and purpose. It's time we hold ourselves accountable not to the hours we possess but to the change we enact within them.
As we stand at the crossroads of potential and inertia, let's choose the path less traveled—the path of possibility. Let's turn away from the allure of excuses and embrace the formidable power of action. Remember, "Those who want to find a way; those who don't find an excuse."?
In this mantra lies the essence of innovation—the relentless pursuit of the possible in a world riddled with excuses. Let it be the echo in our minds that propels us forward, the refrain that turns 'no' into 'yes,' and the melody that harmonizes our actions with the rhythm of progress.
Today, I challenge you, as I challenge myself—find the way.
