The most important thing in a professional environment is taking initiative because of constantly changing job conditions. Nobody appreciates the person who sits idle waiting to be told what to do or not to do and then he/she accomplishes only the given task. One should be active and take every opportunity that comes his/her way.
When we are being paid to do some particular thing then we are supposed to give it with our maximum effort. In order to become indispensable we must make sure that we are doing our work well & are meeting the required standards. Not only to prove to our employers that we are a worthy asset; we have to excel in our work and go beyond the expected standards. Furthermore, if we do not know how to do some particular thing, instead of making an excuse, we should go and find out how to go about that specific duty & finish it efficiently.
Whatever happens, try to stay cool and focused. Maintaining a positive approach is essential in proving one’s worth. One who gets panicked easily and starts messing things up, is not an indispensable asset. If I can achieve my tasks on a rough day with a smile on my face, I will definitely get noticed and will certainly make a good impression. I always have to make sure that I am a valuable team player by always supporting entire team.
Start choosing yourself to be an integral part of any team and be responsible for the work allotted to you. Work in such a manner that your team start depending on you and start considering you indispensable. Also make sure that you are always willing and available to help whenever your expertise is needed.
Make sure that whenever you get the chance, you will volunteer to do extra work in order to save time. Nothing is more crucial in team work than saving time and money. By volunteering to do extra projects, you can impress more people in the office with your capabilities and talent. We must be flexible enough to adapt changes smoothly. Whatever we are doing, make sure that you work output is in balance with the time you spend at it. Last but not the least always reviews your own progress after each and every project given to you whether in a team or individually.
