With gender diversity taking centre stage in all typically male-dominated industries it comes as quite a shock that the finance industry is the one which is taking longest to catch up with the new trends for a more gender equal workforce.
Although proven improvement is noted across the industry as a whole, it is still the unconscious bias which threatens the development of women into senior roles.
Much research has suggested that a diverse workforce encourages both innovation and stability whilst ensuring a company is agile and reactive to outside threats. Different views and opinions allow for more bases to be covered across the business when a larger diversity of people are involved.
As with all change, it's important to recognise and celebrate those who are at the forefront of a new way of working and we are therefore delighted and honoured to host the annual Women in Finance Awards.
