A Mans War with the Mind

Oftentimes in life, when we feel like we are at our lowest, we are faced with situations that could potentially make us feel even worse.
Situations that raise our stress levels to all time highs, make us feel frustrated, anxious, confused and lost for words as to what to make out of it.
But what we fail to realize is: Ironically, it is at these times that we are in full control.
Think about it, at our lowest, we are so infused by our thoughts that if we take a couple seconds to focus, we can actually understand what we are truly feeling, why we are feeling it and what it is that we desire in life.
Bear with me.
What we rarely realize is that when we are at a high, our brains are too.
We see everything as daisies and butterflies and in the pursuit of staying in this self-perceived utopia, we lose touch with our realities; We grow delusional in the most detached way possible.
This state of high interferes with our judgement, messes with our reasoning and it blurs out our logic, oftentimes pushing us out of sheer lack of awareness into the place where we started; ‘Ground Zero’. Refusing to accept the situation and too shaken to do anything about it, a pure defense mechanism kicks in and it puts us in a state where we grow numb. Unaware of the implications, thirsting for what once was but doing nothing about it, we put ourselves in a comfort zone.
A couple weeks and our brain kicks in, it begins telling us that this comfort is not real, that the way we are living is not normal and that we need to get back up if we want to create a favorable outcome; what do most of us do? We give in to comfort. Fearful of what is hidden along the way and comfortable enough to not care about staying in the same place, we stagnate.
We stay in the same place, doing the same things, over and over, week after week, month after month, year after year.
Our brain keeps telling us to DO. Our beliefs keep telling us to do it later. Soon enough your list of ‘Should do’s’ becomes a list of ‘maybes’ and then, a list of ‘Should Haves’.
On you go, in this artificial bubble of comfort.

All of a sudden, something happens that knocks the comfort out of your zone. You are in a state of fight or flight, you feel frustrated. Now, after all this time, from out of nowhere, reality kicks you so hard that you are forced to wake up.
Back in a state of pain, frustration and anxiety, but this time, you are given a choice:
Having felt the mediocrity of numbness and comfort, and the elation of success; you are now at a pivotal intersection: Relive the past months over and over again, or get up and write your own narrative. Shape your own destiny.
It is at this point, whether you realize it or not, that you are in full control of your life, for your decision dictates what happens next.
You either break every obstacle in the way or break yourself in the process of staying in place.
It is moments like this where external circumstances, emotions and judgement should have no effect on you whatsoever, for if you think about it, you are already at a low, things don’t get much worse. They either stay the same due to inaction or get a whole lot better.
It is fully up to you to create your future, for at your lowest, you are also most aware, give yourself the space to understand exactly how you feel, why you feel it and what it is that you want to become; this will allow you to assess what the best thing to do is.
After that, you are presented with two and ONLY two choices: Give in to mediocrity and comfort, or give your all to becoming the man you dream of becoming.
The decision is fully yours. No can make it for you.
IT IS TIMES LIKE THIS THAT MAKETH MAN.
