MANITOBA CONDUCTED A NEW MPNP DRAW FOR SKILLED WORKERS OVERSEAS STREAM CANDIDATES
Manitoba continues to lead the way in welcoming skilled workers from around the globe, as evidenced by its recent draw within the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). On March 8, 2024, Manitoba conducted draw #212, specifically targeting candidates under the Skilled Worker Overseas (SWO) stream. This draw saw the issuance of 104 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), with a noteworthy inclusion of 20 invitations extended to Express Entry candidates.
What sets this draw apart is the significant drop in the minimum required score, which now stands at 614 points. This represents a substantial decrease of 99 points compared to the previous SWO draw, opening doors for more prospective immigrants to Manitoba. The province's decision to lower the threshold underscores its commitment to attracting top talent from across the globe.
It's worth highlighting that Manitoba's invitation pool includes candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. This strategic approach ensures that individuals already in the Express Entry system have a pathway to Manitoba's provincial nomination.
Throughout 2024, the MPNP has demonstrated its proactive stance by extending invitations to a total of 1,356 candidates, with 148 of them being through the Express Entry stream alone. These numbers reflect Manitoba's dedication to addressing labor market needs and fostering economic growth through immigration.
