Manifesting Your Dream Life

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
― Albert Einstein
These wise words from Albert Einstein may not be as famous as some of his other great work, but they have never rung truer for the modern working world. What our old friend Albert so succinctly summarises for us here is the importance of mindset in our perception of the state of our life.
Words like ‘manifesting’, ‘living your dream’, or ‘embrace your truth’ tend to be associated with wishy washy life coaching or naivety to the realities of the world – but when looked at objectively, you start to see the power behind these ways of thinking.
Manifestation at its core can be viewed like a specific form of brain training. At every intersection or choice, you have the option of going with your brain’s instinctual reaction (which for most of us tends to be the pessimistic or cynical route) or you have the option to think about the choice before you as a tool to be used in crafting the life you’d like to live.
When you’ve done it enough times, you re-train your brain to view every choice or even occurrence as an opportunity eventually moving on from opportunity to blessing. Here is where you’ve really cracked the manifestation code – being able to see all that happens to you in your life as a blessing you are grateful for, because it brings you the chance to move towards what you truly want.
What most people who practise manifestation mention when asked about it’s benefits is the release from fear that it brings you. Imagine no longer being worried about what is waiting for you around the corner because you know whatever it is, is going to be a great opportunity to refine what you want from life and work towards it. Been made redundant? What a great injection of cash to start your business. Relationship ends? What an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and spend time becoming a better version of yourself. Been asked to resign? What an amazing chance to work with a career coach and find out what you really want to be spending your time on.
So how do you start?
If all of this sounds great but you have no idea how to start – don’t worry, I have you covered.
The first thing you want to do is get really specific about the things you want out of every area of your life. For example purposes we’ll use your working life. Ask yourself the following questions:
In an ideal world where there are no limits:
- If I could do anything what would I do?
- Who are the people I’d most like to work with?
- What impact do I want to make throughout my career?
- What do I want to feel when I get home (or log off) from work every day?
When you’ve got answers to these questions, it’s time to create visual reminder of your goals. This is where vision boards come in! They’re fun to make and their foundations are backed by science. A psychological study found that when we have our goals written down and displayed close to us, we’re far more likely to make choices in their favour and far more likely to achieve them.
Your vision board is just your list of goals but represented visually for you. Do you dream of working with underserved communities in rural Australia? Add a picture which reminds you of this to your vision board. Over time, having all of your goals (work and otherwise) close to you will see you start to make decisions and create a mindset that will help you achieve them.
For a lot of people who are hesitant about embracing vision boards and manifestation I only have one thing to say – if what you’ve been doing so far hasn’t brought about the life you dreamed of, what’s the harm in trying something new? You could end up surprised at the things that fall into your lap when you give it a go!

2 年Wow Amie, this is such a powerful piece and yes, I totally resonate when you , you shift from fearing whats around the corner to purely enjoying being in the moment. In fact I would say manifestation is trust. You trust that ask and it is given and trust that life will support you with the resources you need along the way. Loved this read , keep up the fantastic work
