The mango tree

When I was younger we used to go the mango orchards during summer vacations.??

It used to be the most exciting time because we would climb the mango trees pluck as many raw green mangoes as we liked.??

We would then eat them whole or dip the slices in a mixture or salt and red chill powder and eat till our mouths couldn't handle any more sour taste!?

At some point the mangoes would ripen and we would pluck those and suck out the pulp and juice directly in our mouth!?

And we kept doing that over and over during summers.?

Why did we keep going back to the trees???

We could see the abundance.

The trees unapologetically showed their fruits. The green, the reddish green, and the yellow, once ripe, we saw all range of colors.?

That's what attracted us to them.?

Imagine if the mango trees decided, "Let me be humble." Or "I don't like to show off." Or "I don't like to brag about myself."?

And they hid their fruits or didn't let the flowers turn into fruits, they would be ignored and the children would find some other activity.

They won't be interested in the tree at all even if it kept working hard to keep itself growing. (the same way most women keep getting degrees and certifications but keep their mouth shut and don't speak up to show their value)?

It's ridiculous to even think that way about mango trees, isn't it??

So why do YOU hide your fruit??

Why don't you speak up and show your value??

Why do you tell yourself to hide your shine??
