Team TransGraph conducted surveys in various districts of Andhra Pradesh, including NTR district (Nunna, Visannapeta), Eluru district (Nuziveedu), Annamayya district (Rayachoty, Koduru), Tirupati (including Puttur), Chittoor (Bangarupalem, Damal Cheruvu, Venkatagiri Kota) and Kadapa. We also conducted surveys in Kolar district (Srinivasapura, Mulbagul, Tayaluru) of Karnataka, as well as in Krishnagiri & Dharmapuri, Dindigul & Madurai districts of Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, we conducted surveys in the districts of Bengaluru rural, Tumkur, Ramnagar (including Chennapatna), Mysore, Dharwad, and Belagavi in Karnataka, and Sindhudurg (Vengurla, Devgad) and Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. The Alphonso mango is the major and significant variety of mango cultivated in these regions.

Field surveys were conducted in Bengaluru rural, Tumkur, Mysore, Ramnagar, Dharwad and Belagavi districts. Alphonso variety is the most common, accounting for 35%. Due to prevailing disruptive weather conditions, Alphonso mango production is likely to decline significantly compared with the previous year. Overall, Alphonso production is likely to decline to the extent of a huge number in Dharwad and Belagavi districts.

?There is a decline in Totapuri mango production across various regions in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The main reasons for this decline include delayed and poor flowering, elevated temperatures, insufficient rainfall, and pest infestations. The fresh arrivals of Totapuri mangoes are likely to start in the upcoming weeks of May 2024. Overall, the total mango production is expected to decrease significantly compared to the previous year.
