Mango is making its central offices in Barcelona green again
Urbidermis & Belloch Forestal
We work to promote cities that are greener, more connected and better adapted to people.
A space in the gap between two buildings.
The landscaping studio AELAND is planning a countryside atmosphere between the “Hangar” and the new GCA Architects design centre, “The Line”. A series of green areas that meet requirements in terms of movement between the two points, and that invite Mango staff to relax.?Each area of vegetation offers a varied topography and size, creating a mixed landscape with hills and small valleys.?The ground is carpeted with a selection of bushes and plants.
Evergreen species such as?Cotoneaster dammeri, which alternates between flowers in spring and fruit in autumn, and the greenness of juniper (Juniperus). Others play a leading role in different seasons, with grasses such as the?Imperata cylindrica?'Red Baron',?Verbena bonariensis?and aromatic Salvia yangii (Perovskia atriplicifolia), which can be recognised by its violet flowers in the middle of the summer.
Advice from Urbidermis on lighting.
Between the vegetation, the Skyline bollards, which are low-level lighting elements, discreetly provide structure for the pedestrian walkway of the Mango offices, with warmth and elegance. Designed by Antoni Roselló and winner of the ADI FAD [Industrial Design Association for the Promotion of Art and Design] award, Skyline is a bollard with key lines which has light windows at different heights. An element that illuminates the horizontal plane and provides volumetric light vertically, in places where it is worth looking up at the spectacular oak (Quercus) and birch (Betula pendula) trees.
