MANASYS Jazz Build 17.1.297 has been released, improving support for Easytrieve Conversion.

We've been advertising "Send us an EZT program, and let us show you how easily MANASYS Jazz can turn this into COBOL", and recently we were given a 900-line EZT program for this demonstration. The program, which used some EZT features that we hadn't previously encountered, took a couple of days work to turn into 400 lines of Jazz, from which MANASYS generated 5422 lines of COBOL that compiled cleanly and will produce equivalent reports (minor layout differences).

Build 297 implements improvements in EZT conversion as a result of the issues recorded with this program. Click here, and you can see the list of changes at the heading "Build 297": with these changes this program would have been quicker to convert. We're keen to get more samples from users, to show us where we can make further improvements.

Plans to add DATETIME support and Import from RPG have been carried forward to Build 298.
