Managing work and motherhood: The balancing act
While motherhood and work are two of the most fulfilling components of a woman's journey, they often require careful balance. It can be difficult for moms striving to strike a balance between raising a family and advancing their careers. The key to this balancing act is being flexible, resilient, and committed to one's own well-being. As a mother of a 4-year-old and a working professional, I can completely relate to this.
This brings up a memory from 2022, right after the pandemic, when people had just started returning to work. I was about to leave for the airport when my kid, who was about three at the time, started throwing up after sobbing all night because she didn't want me to leave.
These are heartbreaking times for mothers, and they truly don't know what to do! You're battling mom guilt and work obligations. You can only imagine how I must have felt the entire time. I asked the cab driver to wait for a while, gave her the medication, and had numerous assurances from my family that they would take care of her before leaving.?
The upside is that we both figured out how to handle it.
So, what does it take to balance both??
Taking on chaos:
An ever-present companion in both motherhood and corporate leadership is chaos. One of the most life-changing aspects of my path has been learning to accept the unpredictable nature of these tasks. It takes a certain kind of mental gymnastics to go between serious business conversations and spontaneous playdates while acknowledging and embracing the beautiful chaos.

So, is it possible to be flawless at both?
Well, I think it's important to accept imperfection and realize that obstacles are part of the journey. It's also about acknowledging accomplishments, drawing lessons from failures, and walking the path with sincerity. Striking a balance between work life and motherhood might be difficult and tiring, but it is extremely rewarding as well.
