Managing people would be easy... if everyone had the same goal. But guess what? They don't.
Strongstep - Innovation in software quality
A company specialized in software engineering that contributes to the improvement of software quality in the world.
Throughout my years as a CEO, it hasn’t been strategy or market shifts that have challenged me the most. Managing people – now that’s the true test of leadership.
It’s funny how we prepare ourselves to deal with economic fluctuations, crises, and even technological revolutions, yet we rarely talk about the complexity of aligning people with such different ambitions, paces, and motivations. Some want to move up quickly, others prefer stability and consistency, and then there are those always on the lookout for the next big challenge.
In the midst of all this, here we are, trying to ensure that everyone is moving in the same direction, without losing focus or enthusiasm. And that’s the hard part: there’s no magic formula. No matter how brilliant the strategy is, nothing happens without alignment among the people.
The complexity of leading a diverse team
As CEOs, one thing is clear: nothing moves forward if we don’t know how to lead the team effectively. Business success starts from the inside out. You can have the best vision for the future, but if you can’t motivate and align people, execution will fail.
Each day brings the challenge of balancing these differences. And often, we find ourselves wondering: "Am I motivating them enough? Or am I asking for too much?" What drives one person might be irrelevant to another, and the art of leadership is about finding that balance.

The exchange of experiences among leaders
At the end of the day, the truth is, there’s no one "right" way to lead. Every CEO I know has their own stories of trial and error, lessons learned from practice and experience. We’re all figuring it out as we go, adjusting along the way. And it’s in these exchanges of ideas that solutions come to light.
So, here’s my question: what’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced when trying to motivate your team?
After all, we’re all dealing with this same dynamic, trying to find the balance between what motivates each person and what drives the company forward. At the end of the day, we’re all in this leadership journey together.
