Managing Menopause with Conversations in Color?: Creative Solutions for Navigating Menopause

Menopause isn’t just about physical changes—it brings a complex mix of emotional, mental, and psychological shifts. Brace yourself; this is about to get R.E.A.L. personal!

For many women, it can feel overwhelming to maintain focus at work, keep up with responsibilities at home, and stay connected to their sense of well-being.

Unfortunately, conversations about menopause are still often taboo in workplaces, leaving many women to navigate it in isolation.

Trust me, I’ve been there. On May 12, 2014, I had a partial hysterectomy. The OB/GYN told me that leaving my ovaries intact would delay menopause. But by November of that same year, all emotional and physical hell had broken loose—I was in full-blown menopause.

For five years, the emotional, physical, mental, and other relational parts of my life were pure chaos. From sleepless nights drenched in sweat to unpredictable mood swings, it was as if someone traced the outline of my body with a blowtorch.

The hot flashes, brain fog, and weight gain made staying focused, especially at work, impossible. What I once thought were just complaints from older women suddenly became my reality.

Why Creativity and Connection Matter During Menopause

When menopause symptoms hit—like brain fog, mood swings, and exhaustion—managing work and personal life can feel impossible. I tried everything: natural supplements, teas, vegetarian diets, meditation—you name it. Nothing worked. Even prescription meds that were supposed to help me sleep turned me into a walking zombie.

I later realized I needed a safe space to connect, express emotions, and find support. Creative activities like coloring can activate relaxation responses in the brain, reducing stress and promoting clarity.

This is the foundation of Conversations in Color?: Creative Solutions for Navigating Menopause, a workshop where you can confidently explore creative tools and build a community to navigate this phase.

Managing Menopause at Work with Confidence

I wish I had known earlier how important it was to manage emotions at work. I struggled in silence for years, trying to balance my career while pretending everything was fine.

The reality is that menopause affects everything—from your mental sharpness to your emotional stability.

This workshop goes beyond creative expression; it teaches practical strategies to stay productive and focused in your career even when menopause symptoms hit hard.

In 2019, when I finally visited an endocrinologist, my life changed. She diagnosed my low testosterone and thyroid issues—something my PCP had overlooked—and within weeks, I felt like myself again. The frustration I carried for five years didn’t disappear overnight, but I had the tools to take control of my well-being for the first time.

That’s what this workshop is about—giving you the support, tools, and space to manage your emotional and physical changes without sacrificing your career.

What You’ll Gain from the Workshop

  • Creative tools to manage stress and process emotions through mindful coloring.
  • Peer support and connection through group coaching and shared experiences.
  • Practical strategies to manage emotional challenges in the workplace.
  • Confidence to maintain your career momentum while taking care of yourself.
