Enterprise Energy Market Solutions: Innovative and Accelerated
FERC is currently pushing forward to instate protocols & registration requirements for inverter-based resources (IBR). It is imperative that energy market participants have the right people, process and technology in place?to better manage their grid stability impacting renewable assets such as wind, solar, batteries, and hydrogen.
As energy transitions to a lower carbon footprint, IBR resources will become more dominant and take up a larger share of the overall power supply. With the ability to quickly ramp up and down, renewable energy assets will play a critical role in grid reliability over the upcoming years. NERC has been advised to develop standards for IBRs. With new regulatory requirements in the works, the more easily market participants can access and model data for strategic decision making, asset operations, and planning in one system, they will be poised for efficiency and success.
The FERC proposal, which focuses on grid reliability and stability will focus on the following two key areas for energy market participants:
1.?????Registering any unregistered IBRs that currently operate in the bulk power system based on certain parameters
2.?????The development of Reliability Standards for IBRs covering data sharing, model validation, planning and operational studies, and performance requirements.
?Setting up IBRs and all their associated attributes can be done easily with Adapt2 Green. For more information, please visit www.adapt2.com
