Managers are about to be replaced.
Three months ago, I fully utilized ClickUp's features—KPI's, OKR's, goals, objectives, milestones, projects, tasks, and more.
I created an agile system for deploying tasks and projects. Today, we’re able to conduct a simple Google Meet session that listens to our communication and, via automation, transfers the discussion into actionable tasks on ClickUp. It captures titles, descriptions, priorities, due and start dates, checklists, sub-tasks, assignees, and more.
All agile frameworks and project management tools are integrated, to ensure everyone delivers. It tracks productivity and workloads and finds challenges and areas for improvement, whether performance-related or else.
For soft skills, we’re using AI to analyze chats and behaviours during meetings. It listens to how we communicate, brainstorm, give feedback, and even how resourceful or engaged we are. This helps us spot where someone might need support, whether it’s improving active listening, critical thinking, or teamwork. From there, we can offer personalized coaching or mentoring to help with both soft and hard skill growth.
It also keeps track of team dynamics; recognizing who’s collaborating well, spotting interruptions, and noticing when someone isn’t contributing as much. Getting this private feedback and working on areas for improvement has been a positive experience for everyone on the team.
We’re also working on a brainstorming protocol. This system transforms problem discussions (via automation) into brainstorming sessions with a 24-hour deadline. Ideas are crowdsourced and refined through an engaging upvoting system, with feedback from critical thinkers and brainstormers(green/black hats) to refine solutions. These refined ideas are then converted into projects and tasks. This approach has proven effective for strategic round-table talks as well.
You may argue that management requires strategic thinking and nuanced judgment, adaptability, and long-term vision. Also empathy, motivation, and conflict resolution also remain irreplaceable. Qualities that software cannot replicate.
I never claimed that mentors and coaches would be replaced.
Looking that we have been able to launch these features in a few weeks, I believe it’s only a matter of time before the global workforce evolves into a data-driven ecosystem. An "Amazon for work," powered by comprehensive project management platform, automation, and AI.

Add to this learn-by-doing model, gamification and voulla.
Hiring won't need ATS's, and interview rounds as you'll be able to cherry-pick people based of their soft/hard skill tracking, culture fit and their industry knowledge.
Teams won't use freelancing platforms as there'll be more agile and efficient ways to outsource.
Students won't use courses anymore as there will be live shadow-learning sessions and gamified hands-on learning events. They'll be able to go in and out of real company projects/tasks, discovering which hard skills they find most exciting for their character traits and later forge and specialise to gain job-market value.
It’s going to be an ongoing, gamified experience full of collaboration and competition. Everyone will have an avatar which will be their dashboard that tracks their soft and hard skills, the number of tasks completed, how many iterations it took to hit a 5/5 standard (reviewed by mentors and experts), how many companies they’ve worked with, and the industries they’ve been involved in.
The real game-changer, though, will be the hands-on startup accelerators. Participants, whether students or experienced professionals, will work on real-world problems with learn-by-doing model and mentor's iteration system. Every task that hits a 5/5 excellence rating will earn equity in the company through smart contracts, deployed daily. Projects that raise funds or go post-revenue will offer longer-term roles, and new people will keep coming in, that will want to prove themselves by jumping into tasks and projects(there's your culture fit), competing to be among the top performers.
This is the future of up-skilling and work. The real question is - who’s going to build it first?
