I've got a story to share from my time as the President of the Carleton Student Association. Leading a team of 150, I had some big dreams.
I wanted to make a mark by introducing ambitious projects. I was all about creating disruptive change.
But one day, my team sat me down and laid it all out. I had stopped listening and was pushing them in a direction they didn't sign up for.
I had lost that connection with my team.
