Management Lessons 10: Foundation matters if Profitability is

Everyone is curious about your "why" story and some of us hire copywriters to fabricate a dedicated story to our businesses. Cab aggregators Ola and Uber started with that profound zeal that they would revolutionize the industry but today, they are known for bad reputation.

Your intention has nothing to do with your business profitability. Customers like your story and you get scrutinized by the media & people everyday but are you profitable yet?

Intention is required when you are willing to start a business but that too fades when you are unable to make a sale. That's the core reason why most founders quit working on their brainchild after a certain time because they themselves are fed up with their good "fruitless" intentions.

When you have money to advertise, you follow all tools and techniques to get customers. You multiply that amount to get multiple returns and it is not a sustainable model for any business. Your aim should be to solve a problem and earn a living like many (small) businesses do. Amul has a legacy for dairy products. They serve their customers directly and indirectly and they don't try to attract them too.

It is a common sense where everything depends upon how much sales you bring to the table and then only, you decide your expenditure and other things. Modern theories have definitely made our life better but the funda to do a business are still the same.

Today's marketing allows you to make buzz with money but what happens when you have no money?

You start your campaigns on your own. You become your biggest brand ambassador. You make your dream real with your hard labour like what I am doing with this post. This post reminds me of my past when I was miserable with my things but things change and I changed.
