Manage Your Energy !

Manage Your Energy !

I genuinely believe in leaving office on time so that I can also have some 'me time', to look inwards, deeper. The search for the real 'me' can only happen if you are healthy from within. There is so much to do in this one life, alongside working towards professional goals which is just one facet of our life.

I strongly feel that an organisation can grow positively only if their employees bring in the positive aura every morning. The basic culture of any organization should be to encourage positivity in their employees! Personal growth is very important , if you are not growing personally, you wont be able to succeed professionally either. If you are happy truly doing what you do, that's amazing, but if you are just doing because you are supposed to do it, then you just exist in that role!

If you realize that you have just 8 hours to work, you will see yourself wasting less time in unnecessary things, not hanging around in the pantry, or going out for a smoke or getting distracted on social media! Deciding to leave on time will not only make you more disciplined at work, it will give you personal deadlines and motivate you to be more productive throughout the day.

As a nation obsessed with the western culture, what stops us from learning the importance of time management from them! People there respect each other's time and also manage work better, they have learnt that personal time is the essence to developing self; shouldn't we learn this and not just be a shadow chaser.

One of the other basic realities of life is most of us trying to fit into jobs we don’t even like, we even miss out on opportunities to discover our real passions. Invest your time in finding out your calling in life. I would choose "experience over money". No one can come and make you Happy, Stand and Act for your happiness!

I leave office on time for:

  1. Walk, workout and try to stay fit.
  2. Start playing Basketball again!
  3. Meet people from different walks of life and experience! Network well and make friends! I love meeting new people and making friends. I find inspiration in meeting new people.
  4. Focus on being happy
  5. Spending time with family
  6. Surprise old friends by picking up the phone and say hello!
  7. Plan a get together with friends and colleagues.
  8. Work on staying positive, this will help you to be at peace.
  9. Trying to learn home décor (from one of my friends)
  10. Learn to write better English and new words
  11. Focus in accumulating good karma
  12. Travel once every 2-3 months, I love travelling be it official or personal

What more I would love to do:

  1. Learn to dance (like I used to once upon a time!)
  2. Work more efficiently in office and grow my career
  3. Learn to cook better
  4. Help people to grow
  5. Write a book on my roller coaster life so far!
  6. Start sketching again
So much to do and so little time!

Learning is perhaps the one thing that we Indians don't do like the westerners, we love to do the rote way and designed for the same. It is tough to manage time especially when the environment is not conducive to it. So one brick at a time, eventually we will learn to do it is my 2 cents to our time management skills. I have been at it from the day I remember tying my shoelace on my own.
