Manage anxiety for better decision making

As humans, we are wired to create meaning from our experiences. Every story we tell, every interpretation we make, shapes our subjective truth.

Consider a scenario, a salesperson following up for PO with a customer. Now even after lot of chasing up and follow ups, customer is not returning calls. Usually, how we perceive this situation, the questions we ask ourselves, and the emotions we feel are all influenced by the meaning we assign to it. There could be a genuine reason for customer being busy in some other activity . But as a sales person, who is over anxious, will start feeling negative about the opportunity.

Our #choices, from how we feel to how anxious we become, play a pivotal role in shaping our version of the truth. Remember, as human beings we are born story teller. But the stories we tell ourselves can either empower us or hold us back.

Now, how we manage anxiety can significantly impact our experiences and perceptions. Understanding that our responses are rooted in our choices, our conditioning and our beliefs. While anxiety is a natural part of life and can enhance performance, it's vital to recognize when it becomes overwhelming. Navigating anxiety is a personal journey, and recognizing the fine line between healthy tension and debilitating worry is crucial for well-being.

Remember, a certain level of anxiety can propel us to excel, but it's essential to ensure it doesn't overpower us.

One effective strategy to address overwhelming worry or high level of anxiety is by delving into how we perceive and interpret situations.

Emotions are not dictated by facts themselves but by our individual interpretations of those facts.

By understanding and reshaping our interpretations, we can effectively manage and potentially eliminate excessive worry, paving the way for improved performance and enhanced personal relationships. Hence as professionals is good to become anxious but its better to tame the worry and be diligent in knowing the right truth and then take the right decision.
