Have you ever stopped to wonder what makes someone want to be a musician?
Are they called to do it?
Or is it just the best opportunity at the time?
Either way my foray into music has been quite a roller coaster.
Let me rewind a bit.
I started an ad agency at the start of March. A decision I quickly regretted because I couldn’t get a client to save my life! Marketing budgets tightened as news of an airborne virus hit the airwaves.
After I got past my initial frustration, I started thinking about different creative projects I could pursue, because, as you know, “Creators Create”. Then it hit me- I should make an album.
I can’t explain why I even thought I could accomplish this. I have no musical accolades on which to hang my hat on. But it’s what I wanted to do.
So I dived into as many books on songwriting and music production as I could. And after drowning in a sea of information and feeling overwhelmed, I decided to swallow my pride and look for help. That is when I found a hero that saved the day.
Her name is Allie Farris. She is an amazing musician that has produced 7 albums before(which are all quite good if you ask me). And after we talked, I breathed a huge sigh of relief-I was no longer flying solo.
We decided that the album should be about traveling. That is something that we were both missing during these isolated times. Fast forward 3 months later and she has already produced 4 songs for the album.
Allie’s songs remind us of the value of freedom – the ability to explore our surroundings,
visit places with our loved ones, and make new experiences. The music also prompt us to
feel empowered to stretch our mental horizons away from our current situations and find the
time and space to dream. To wonder ‘What If’?
Allie is currently producing more songs to complete the album, which will be titled “What a Relief!” So, if you are a journalist and you’d like to listen to the first four songs, before the complete album is released to the public, then please message me and I will give you the private link.
Thanks!
