The Man I Know Daniel Okyem Aboagye, MP. My Brother My Senior.

Executive Director MGI Microfinance

CEO 2M Express LTD.

I knew Daniel as affectionately called in his work place since 2015. My first big business as Sales Executive for Gold coast Securities Limited.

My persistency was able to make MGI Microfinance to invest GH 80000 for 6 months. This was was single sales that helped as I have been chasing MGI for about a year. This is where I met Daniel. My first encounter was a shock because I thought I was going to meet a "Big Man". Low and Behold I met simple and gentle man with an infectious smile. He probed me with all the questions and assurance his money.

Daniel as Certified Public Accountant I knew potential questions he was going to ask. His meticulous and skillful way of asking questions are good to emulate.

So I read about him and prepared very well for questioning with other team members ( Felicity) was the Accounts Team Lead. I had the cheque after some days. One of my happiest moments in my life.

Our relationship grew well but he redeemed the funds after maturity. Daniel became difficult to meet because he used to travel to the States and later started his campaign and ultimately became MP for Bantama Constituency.

His knowledge in finance and economic analysis was apt and easy for any one to understand. He was a toast on TV and radio.

He is a media man and easily approachable however, I could not get opportunity to meet him again until April 2020.

I have gone to Golden Tulip(Kumasi City) now Lancaster for a programme and I met him. I had a Cassava Starch project that was looking for funding. I need to book appointment to meet him. It took me several meeting cancelation before I was able to meet him. After going through my analysis and the financials he said it was not viable and will not invest in it.

I then decided to tell him my start up business( Talents Human Capital) an HR consulting Business after my pitch, Daniel had put Training and Development Company before leaving for parliament so there was already an alignment with what I was doing. Our intentions was to work together to build the best Corporate training and development company in Kumasi.

Daniel had enrolled in the Stanford Seed Programme ( A 6 months capacity building programme for CEO across Africa and Asia organized by the Stanford University. he gave me the opportunity to join and it was a programme beyond MBA. We had a lot of learning opportunities and working on projects.

From this programme MGI Microfinance needed Transformation after 15 years of existence.

I was with him for the transformation journey. Daniel is workaholic until there is nothing to be done he do not close from work. His work become more intense and even work more after 5pm.

2M Express had taken off and was also under going restructuring. We stayed in the office from 7am to 10 pm. This is worth it. He said" today is here you cannot predict tomorrow"

His work ethics is wealthy emulating. Daniel is teachers' teacher. His accounting class is superb. He believes in sharing knowledge. His has respect for all and kind hearted. Daniel make sure he acquire anything through the right and proper channels. He is a compliance manual. He has time for his work. His drivers training is indeed remarkable.

Daniels' Tuesday and Thursday media programme a much talked about in Kumasi. He was the favorite to be on your show. Because he knew the numbers and the analyses that made meaning to every Ghanaian.

Time and other demands did not allow us to pursue the TBG dream but we were working to take off.

It was unfortunate he has to leave us so soon.

Good people do not live long.

Wofa Atta, Daniel Da yie . Till we meet again.
