The Man with the Binder

The Man with the Binder

A bit of the internet:

  • Positive News to Fill the Feed | As we all know, social media can become a bit exhausting, with so much negativity filling our feeds. This creator on TikTok is receiving a lot of attention for making content that focuses on positive news users might not be aware of. He describes this as his way of cleansing our feeds and encourages positive updates to make for brighter moments as we scroll.
  • The Man with the Binder | The “man with the binder” is taking over users FYPs. If you haven’t seen him, his videos show him approaching unsuspecting people and flipping through a binder filled with strange memes and AI-generated images, seemingly with no real pattern or meaning. While the people he approaches are often confused, they usually stick around, curious to figure out what he might be trying to say. Would you stay and try to make sense of it, or walk away?
  • Are We All Eagles Fans Because of Bubba? | If you’re unsure of who to root for in the Super Bowl, Bubba Collins, a passionate Eagles fan, would like a word. Bubba’s passion has been so palpable this football season that it has amassed him over a million followers on TikTok, built anticipation for his football reactions and converted non-football fans to root for the Birds in the Super Bowl—kinda convinced right? Us too ??
  • Me Core | Irena Aizen’s wide-eyed “bunny girls” have flooded TikTok, staring deep into our souls, whether we asked for it or not. These dreamy (yet slightly unhinged) paintings have become the backdrop for a new meme trend, with captions like “How I look at my friend after forcing their pet to like me.” The obsession has gone beyond paintings, with users recreating Aizen’s art in everything from AI and Roblox characters to cookies and cake.
  • Group Chat Dance Battle | Group chat getting dry? There's a new trend to spice it up by challenging everyone to participate in a dance battle with each other. May the odds (and rhythm) be ever in your favor.

What brands are up to:

  • NYXTape | NYX Cosmetics is teaming up with 5 talented independent female artists and songwriters for their new project, NYXTape. This collaboration aims to amplify the voices of female artists by leveraging TikTok’s music distribution platform, which allows artists to earn royalties while connecting with the TikTok community and audiences worldwide.
  • The Cadillac of Reservations | COQODAQ, one of NYC’s hardest-to-book restaurants, is teaming up with Cadillac for a unique dining experience inside a luxury ESCALADE IQ. Tonight and tomorrow, a lucky few will skip the waitlist and enjoy COQODAQ’s Korean-American dishes like gold-dusted fried chicken with caviar, all while dining in the backseat of the high-end SUV.
  • Benefit Cosmetics Created a Finsta | Benefit Cosmetics created their first finsta account leading up to the launch of their new mascara. The finsta was used exclusively to host giveaways, getting attention from followers on their main account and shifting focus to the launch of their new product. To enter, followers had to engage with the account and fill out a contact information form, generating buzz around the new account and product while acquiring new leads.
  • NEON Is Back In The Headlines | NEON is back at it again with the beginning of what seems to be another viral marketing campaign for their new horror film. If you’ve seen the trailer for The Monkey, you’ll quickly realize that it’s a bloody and violent film. Well, when NEON submitted this trailer to TV networks hoping to buy some ad space, the reactions they received were so good they had to share them with the internet. Every network they sent the trailer to politely declined... for obvious reasons. The NEON team took these rejection emails, blocked out identifying information and caused quite a stir on social media.
  • Snack In :60 Challenge | OPI kicked off the launch of their new fast-drying nail polish by teaming up with Wingstop for the #SnackIn60 challenge. The pair are giving away kits, complete with nail polish, an hourglass, and hot wings, challenging fans and influencers to time dry their polish before putting their manicure to the test with the messiest snack of all—hot wings.
  • Instagram Grid Update Reactive Posts | In response to Instagram's transition from square to rectangular grid posts, Kraft Singles and Ghirardelli quickly reacted, sharing playful posts that highlighted their iconic square-shaped products. The comment sections quickly filled with praise for the social media teams for the clever concepts.
