I was given an assignment at my University where I'm studying broadcasting to interview someone of interest. So I chose to interview my boss Rudy Gonzalez which I have work for him for the last three years and he has been one of the most interesting characters. I have ever met, a man as solitude as he is humble So he agreed to sit down with me and here is a portion of that interview.

Q: What is one of the things that are most important in your life?
Rudy
Nothing burns like the cold family which consists of my mother and my sister. To wake up every morning and try to make a difference in some small way, to extend my hand and help animals who truly suffer at the hands of human beings.
Q: What is missing in your life?
Rudy
To miss something in life, you must first have it. I miss my father and I miss not having all the scars of being a Bodyguard.
Q: Do you consider yourself successful?
Rudy
No, because success comes with a degree of accomplishment and satisfaction and I have never reached a point in life where I have been satisfied. I only know how to keep moving forward people often tell me that I have to stop and smell the roses But that only works if you're in a garden.
Q: What do you consider a friend?
Rudy
Nothing in my life has left more scars in my heart then the assumption of friendship male or female. The years invested only to one day realize there was an under a layer of jealousy, hate or the notion that I'm going to get what I need from you. The only thing that I have found in this world that is truly a friend and has no agenda, no premeditated plan just love, is a pet like Hachiko.
Q: Have you ever found true love?
Rudy
When it comes to love I think we are selfish just because you're in love with someone or you're like them you have to know what they need in their life at that moment. Some people you have to love from far away if you choose not to lose them even at the risk of them never knowing how you felt.
Q: Do you regret not being married or having children?
Rudy
As the years go by and I look back at my past relationships. I see my ex-girlfriends which are married and most of them have children, I find myself looking through the glass and I often ask myself what did I wrong, but only to realize that I never broke the glass.
Q: If you could change two things in the world what would it be?
Rudy #1
It would be the abuse of women, children, and animals in this world by a group of cowards in the name of religion with their fake gods and barbaric mentality.
Rudy #2
It would have to be the senseless violence that this generation has embraced with the notion that they're all gangsters. Until they are shot by the police and then they want to use racism as an excuse to go ghetto shopping by way of looting
Q: As a bodyguard what was your biggest fear?
Rudy
Not being there, this is a job with no time card with no vacation and with very few accomplishments because it is an instinct of people not to listen until it's too late.
Q: You always seem to be alone why?
Rudy
I have spent so many years in the limelight with my employers and many years traveling, so many people always wanting something from them. So I guess when I'm alone I don't have to scan you I don't have to look beyond this smile, beyond the motive, it just makes it easier for me.
Q: You have built-in amazing Empire with Exotic Flights and the television show that's coming soon what's next for you?
Rudy #1
The Inner Ring Movie is a priority in my life because I need to get rid of the emotions that have traveled with me as I witness this broken Empire.
Rudy #2
I am completing my second novel Trash Dynasty.
Rudy #3
The question will be answered "what if music could fly" with Akron and me.
Q: How do you want to be remembered?
Rudy
Honestly, I don't when Hector macho Camacho died there were over 30,000 people that came to his funeral and I remember asking myself I don't think I know 10 people that would come.
Rudy #2
In 1991 I was shot 3 times and I flatline on the streets of Los Angeles twice before the paramedics were able to bring me back. There is nothing you can take with you all you have is what's in your heart and that is the only thing that you can take with you.
Q: Do you have any regrets in life?
Rudy
If anyone ever told you they don't they're lying we all have regrets, I guess the one that hurts is Hector macho Camacho I regret not doing more. I regret not getting on that plane and pulling him out of Puerto Rico.
Q: Where do you think you'll be in 10 years?
Rudy
10 years! I just try to make it to the end of the day and I just focus on the six inches in front of me.
Q: What frightens you?
Rudy
The loneliness of losing my family my beautiful mother who is 86 I have spent most of my life away on tour traveling the world. The struggle of my baby sister fighting cancer she is my hero.
Q: if there was one message that you can tell the whole world what would it be?
Rudy
Appreciate life for tomorrow is not promised to anyone, take time to care for the important things and just remember we are all human beings sharing a beautiful planet. So stop being so selfish because I promise you one thing you can't take any of it with you.
Thank you, Boss, for this amazing interview <3 — in New York, New York.

4 年I have seen firsthand what an incredible man & friend Rudy is. I saw his undying love for his mother, sister & a father he barely knew. Sadly, I also witnessed people trying to use him for their own selfish wants, whose only thoughts were take, take, take! He has an incredible work ethic & great empathy at the same time. My dear friend, I will be there should you pass before me. I promise. Erika one thing I am sure you know but is hard to capture is how funny Rudy is! He has the best laugh and I hope he will find more reasons to laugh in the future. No one deserves it more.

5 年Exactly. Family is so important; my regret is not spending enough time with my grandparents and my parents; they all died young. I value loyalty to a fault and understand you can have colleagues, acquaintances, neighbors, but true friends that want nothing from you - uh huh, everyone wants something-unfortunately some family falls into that category too. Just do the best you can, help when you can, be true to yourself be at peace with yourself and try to enjoy your time. I need to read your book. :)
