Chapter 1
?
After forty years that the children of Israel made an exodus out of Egypt.? They entered the Promised Land.
??????? Moses died before the children of Israel entered the Promised Land.? As soon as the Israel entered the Promised Land, the children of Israel went to serve make believe gods.
??????? This angered GOD, GOD delivered them into hands the hands of other nations.
??????? Israel cried out unto the LORD GOD.?
HE said, ‘‘Go cry to your gods you have chosen.? Let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.
????????? The children of Israel said unto the?Lord, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.
They put away the strange gods from among them, and served the?LORD: and HIS soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpeh.
The people and princes of Gilead said one to another, what man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
The LORD saved Israel from their enemies, as soon everything went well, they went on serving other gods.
GOD had enough, HE allowed the philistines to take them into captivity.
?Once again Israel mourned, GOD brought up a man with superhuman strength to deliver Israel.?
He slayed thousands of philistines.? He fell in love with a philistine woman in the process.?
He would slay the philistines with ease.? The philistines began to make a deal with Delilah to ask for his strength lies.
Delilah asked, ‘‘Where do you get your incredible strength?’’
Samson said, ‘‘If I’m tied up with seven green cords that hasn’t been dried, my strength will be like a normal man.’’
She told her people, her people brought the cords.? She tied him up.? She told her people that Samson was vulnerable.
She said, ‘‘Samson, the philistines are here.’’?
Samson awoke, broke off the green cords, and slayed the philistines.
So the strength of Samson wasn’t discovered.???
Delilah said, ‘‘You are making a fool out of me. I beg of you, tell me how can you be a man of normal strength?’’
??????? He told her, ‘‘If you tie me up with ropes that has never been used, then I’ll have the strength of a normal man.’’
??????? She tied him up with new ropes.
??????? She said, ‘‘The philistines are here, Samson.’’
??????? Samson awoke, tore the ropes, and slayed the philistines.
??????? She asked, ‘‘How can you say you love me, when you are lying to me?’’
??????? She pressed him daily, until he had enough.
??????? He said to Delilah, ‘‘My hair hasn’t been cut, if it gets cut. My strength will leave.’’
??????? She made him to sleep on her lap.? She called for a razor, and she cut his hair.
??????? She said, ‘‘The philistines are here, Samson.’’
??????? He woke up, not knowing that the SPIRIT of GOD left him.? The philistines subdued him, and tore his eyes out.
??????? They tied him in between the pillars, while the philistines danced for their god.
??????? He cried out, ‘‘Oh LORD GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O GOD, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.’’
??????? The SPIRIT of GOD came upon him, he broke the pillars.? The walls came crashing down.? Killing mostly every philistine, himself included.

Chapter 3
?
?
?
Israel was still having war with the philistines, during those times Israel got a king.? But the king constantly disobeyed GOD.
????????? GOD told the prophet Samuel, ‘‘Go to Bethlehem, and anoint another man, for he is a man after MY HEART.’’
????????? Samuel replied, ‘‘Saul will hear about it, and will kill me.’’
????????? GOD said, “Take a heifer with you and say, I have come to sacrifice to the LORD. Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate."
Samuel did what the LORD said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled when they met him. They asked, "Do you come in peace?"
Samuel replied, "Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me." Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, "Surely the LORD's anointed stands here before the LORD."
`??????? But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, "The LORD has not chosen this one either."
Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, "Nor has the LORD chosen this one."
Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, "The LORD has not chosen these."
So he asked Jesse, "Are these all the sons you have?"
Jesse answered, ‘‘There is still the youngest, but he is tending the sheep."
?Samuel said, "Send for him; we will not sit down, until he arrives."
So he sent and had him brought in. He was ruddy, with a fine appearance and handsome features.
Then the LORD said, "Rise and anoint him; he is the one."
So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came upon David in power. Samuel then went to Ramah.
Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit tormented him.
Saul's attendants said to him, "See, an evil spirit is tormenting you.
Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the harp. He will play when the evil spirit comes upon you, and you will feel better."
So Saul said to his attendants, "Find someone who plays well and bring him to me."
One of the servants answered, "I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the harp. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. The SPIRIT of LORD is with him.
Then Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, "Send me your son David, who is with the sheep."
So Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine and a young goat and sent them with his son David to Saul.
David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much, and David became one of his armor-bearers.
Then Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, "Allow David to remain in my service, for I am pleased with him."

?
David was attending his father’s sheep, then his father sent him to take cheeses to his brothers.
?????? ??Eliab's got angry with David, and he asked, ‘‘Why you came down hither? With whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride that’s in of your heart; for you have come down to see the battle.
David asked, ‘‘What did I do now? You’re getting mad at me for no reason?’’
? ??????David said to Saul, ‘‘Let no man's heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.’’
????????? Saul replied, ‘‘You won’t be able to go up against him, you’re too young.? He has been going to war since he was young.’’
????????? David said, ‘‘I was attending my father’s sheep, and a bear took one of the flock. I rose up and to take it away from the bear. The bear attacked me. I wrestled with it and kill it.? Days later, a lion did the samething. I also wrestled that lion, and killed it. GOD delivered me out of the bear and the lion. The samething will happen with this philistine.’’
????????? Saul said, ‘‘Go and fight. GOD is with you.’’
????????? Saul armed David with his armor, and gave his sword to David.?
????????? David tried to walk around with them, he had a hard time walking around with them.
????????? He said, ‘‘I can’t go with these, it’s hard for me to move in them. ’’ So David took them off, he took five smooth rocks, and ran towards the giant, named Goliath.
????????? Now Goliath was eight in a half feet tall, and had twelve fingers and twelve toes.
????????? David stood in front Goliath.? Goliath began to laugh.
????????? He asked, ‘‘Are you guys mocking me?’’ ?Moreover, he said, ‘‘A boy fighting a man like me. This is ridiculous.’’
????????? Goliath cursed at David through his gods.
????????? David said, ‘‘You come at me with a spear and a javelin. I come at you in the NAME of the LORD. This day, the whole world will know there’s only one GOD.’’
????????? The SPIRIT of GOD came upon David, David slung his slingshot.? The stone sank in the forehead of Goliath.
????????? Goliath fell face first to the ground, David ran to goliath, got his sword, and cut his head off.

????????? Saul said, ‘‘Yeah but, one day he might t rise up and revolt against me.’’
????????? His daughter said, ‘‘David is not like that.’’
????????? Saul kept his eye on David thereafter.? Time went on, Saul’s envy grew more and more.? To the point he tried to kill David with javelin twice.

Chapter 6
?
?
?
The prophet Samuel died, the nation of Israel mourn for Samuel.? The prophet was buried him in hometown.
????????? A man named, Nabal, which means fool, lived in a town of Israel.? He was married to a very beautiful named, Abigail.
????????? He acted very foolishly towards her, he didn’t treat her how a woman should be treated.?
????????? ?While David was in the wilderness, he heard that Nabal was shearing sheep.?
So he sent ten young men and said to them, “Go up to Nabal at Carmel and greet him in my name.?Say to him, Long life to you! Good health?to you and your household! And good health to all that is yours!’’
They continued saying,” ‘Now I hear that it is sheep-shearing time. When your shepherds were with us, we did not mistreat?them, and the whole time they were at Carmel nothing of theirs was missing.??Ask your own servants and they will tell you. Therefore be favorable toward my men, since we come at a festive time. Please give your servants and your son David whatever?you can find for them.’’
?When David’s men arrived, they gave Nabal this message in David’s name. Then they waited.
Nabal answered David’s servants, “Who?is this David? Who is this son of Jesse? Many servants are breaking away from their masters these days. ?Why should I take my bread?and water, and the meat I have slaughtered for my shearers, and give it to men coming from who knows where?”
????????? David’s men turned around and went back. When they arrived, they reported every word.?David said to his men, “Each of you strap on your sword!” So they did, and David strapped his on as well. About four hundred men went?up with David, while two hundred stayed with the supplies. ?
??????? One of the servants told Abigail, “David sent messengers from the wilderness to give our master his greetings,?but he hurled insults at them.??Yet these men were very good to us. They did not mistreat?us, and the whole time we were out in the fields near them nothing was missing.?Night and day they were a wall?around us the whole time we were herding our sheep near them. ?Now think it over and see what you can do, because disaster is hanging over our master and his whole household. He is such a foolish?man that no one can talk to him.’’
Abigail acted quickly. She took two hundred loaves of bread, two skins of wine, five dressed sheep, five seahs of roasted grain, a hundred cakes of raisins and two hundred cakes of pressed figs, and loaded them on donkeys.
Then she told her servants, “Go on ahead; I’ll follow you.” But she did not tell her husband Nabal.
?As she came riding her donkey into a mountain ravine, there were David and his men descending toward her, and she met them.
David had just said, “It’s been useless—all my watching over this fellow’s property in the wilderness so that nothing of his was missing. He has paid me back evil for good.? ?May GOD deal with David, be it ever so severely, if by morning I leave alive one male of all who belong to him!”
?When Abigail saw David, she quickly got off her donkey and bowed down before David with her face to the ground.
??She fell at his feet and said: “Pardon your servant, my lord, and let me speak to you; hear what your servant has to say. ?Please pay no attention, my lord, to that wicked man Nabal. He is just like his name—his name means Fool, and folly goes with him. And as for me, your servant, I did not see the men my lord sent.
She continued saying, ‘‘Now, my lord, as surely as the Lord your God lives and as you live, since the Lord has kept you from bloodshed and from avenging yourself with your own hands, may your enemies and all who are intent on harming my lord be like Nabal. Let this gift, which your servant has brought to my lord, be given to the men who follow you.’’
She added, “Please forgive your servant’s presumption. The Lord your God will certainly make a lasting dynasty for my lord, because you fight the Lord’s battles, and no wrongdoing will be found in you as long as you live. ?Even though someone is pursuing you to take your life, the life of my lord will be bound securely in the bundle of the living by the Lord your God, but the lives of your enemies he will hurl away as from the pocket of a sling. When the Lord has fulfilled for my lord every good thing he promised concerning him and has appointed him ruler over Israel, 31?my lord will not have on his conscience the staggering burden of needless bloodshed or of having avenged himself. And when the Lord your God has brought my lord success, remember your servant.”
?David said to Abigail, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who has sent you today to meet me. ?May you be blessed for your good judgment and for keeping me from bloodshed this day and from avenging myself with my own hands. ??Otherwise, as surely as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, who has kept me from harming you, if you had not come quickly to meet me, not one male belonging to Nabal would have been left alive by daybreak.”
?Then David accepted from her hand what she had brought him and said, “Go home in peace. I have heard your words and granted your request.”
?When Abigail went to Nabal, he was in the house holding a banquet like that of a king. He was in high spirits and very drunk. So she told him nothing at all until daybreak.
Then in the morning, when Nabal was sober, his wife told him all these things, and his heart failed him and he became like a stone. About ten days later, the Lord struck Nabal and he died.
?When David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, “Praise be to the Lord, who has upheld my cause against Nabal for treating me with contempt. He has kept his servant from doing wrong and has brought Nabal’s wrongdoing down on his own head.”
Then David sent word to Abigail, asking her to become his wife.??
His servants went to Carmel and said to Abigail, “David has sent us to you to take you to become his wife.”
????????? Abigail saw that her husband acted in folly behavior, and he took her for granted.
????????? When Nabal died, she saw that David was a wise and good man.? She gladly married David.? Abigail was a wise woman, she realized her
husband was foolish.

?
?
?
Israel was in war again, but this time David stayed in his palace.? David woke up from his nap and walked through the roof of his palace.
????????? As he walking, he saw a beautiful woman bathing.? Now, David could’ve ignored it and kept walking.? He stood there watching her bathe, the more he kept watching her, and the more he wanted her.? He entertain that thought.
????????? He called for one of his servants to bring her to him.
His servant asked him, ‘‘Isn’t that Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, one of your soldiers?’’
David insisted to bring her to him, so his servant brought her to David. David spoke kindly to her, and he laid with her.
Days later, she came to David and said, ‘‘I’m pregnant.’’
David panicked and called for Uriah from the battlefield, He told Uriah to rest and spend time with his wife.?
Uriah instead slept in the king’s palace.
The servants of David that Uriah stayed in the palace.? David went to Uriah, he asked, ‘‘Why didn’t you spent time with your wife?’’
Uriah replied, ‘‘How can I enjoy my wife’s company, if my fellow soldiers and nation is at war?’’
David said, ‘‘Okay, spend the night here. Tomorrow I’ll dispatch you back to the battlefield.’’
David gave him wine, he fell asleep drunk.??
David wrote a letter saying, ‘‘Assign Uriah in the front, where the battle is fiercest. Send him alone, so he could die.’’
So Uriah went back to the battlefield, he gave the letter to the general.
He read it and assign him to fierce part of the battle.? So Uriah went there alone.? They killed Uriah, the news came to Bathsheba, and she lamented for husband.
David came to Bathsheba to make her his wife, but the actions of David displeased GOD.
The prophet Nathan came to David, Nathan said, ‘‘There was a poor man that had one lamb. He took care of it like a child. Now a rich man made a feast for a traveler. Instead of taking of his own lambs. He took the poor man’s lamb for himself.’’
David got enraged, he said, ‘‘The man that done this should die! And repay the man for the injustice that he did!’’
Nathan said, ‘‘You are the man. The LORD says, I took you from a shepherd boy to a king. I gave you a lot of wives and children. If that wasn’t enough, I would’ve bless you more. Now, the child you fathered will die!’’
David repented and said, ‘‘I’ve sinned against GOD.’’
David wrote this, ‘‘Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge.
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
Surely you desire truth in the inner parts you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy SPIRIT from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you.
Save me from bloodguilt, O God, the God who saves me, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
O LORD, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
The sacrifices of GOD are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O GOD, you will not despise.
In your good pleasure make Zion prosper; build up the walls of Jerusalem.
Then there will be righteous sacrifices, whole burnt offerings to delight you; then bulls will be offered on your altar.’’
David learned the consequence of being idle, which means, doing nothing.
If David would’ve been at war, he wouldn’t have sinned.

David lied on the earth for days, praying and literally crying to GOD to have mercy on the child.
His servants came to David to try to get him up from the earth, but he wouldn’t listen to them.
?It came to pass, the child died. They asked, ‘‘Should we tell the king the child died?’’
Another one replied, ‘‘When the baby was alive, he wouldn’t listen to us. What would happen if we tell him that the baby died.’’
David saw his servants whispering.
David asked, ‘‘Is the child dead?’’
His servants replied, ‘‘The child is dead.’’
Then David arose from the earth, washed himself, he went into the house of the LORD and worshipped.
Then he went to his palace, he sat at the king’s table, and ordered food.? They brought him food, his servants were in shock.
His servants asked, ‘‘What thing is this that thou hast done? You fast and wept for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, you got up and ate bread.’’
He said, ‘‘While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live? ?But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.’’
They didn’t know that the child was conceived through David’s sinful action.? That’s why David fasted and wept for the child.
David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and laid with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.
