Mamba out

Mamba out

Today is a sad day. Kobe Bryant has passed away.

This is my first personal (non-business-related post) on LinkedIn (or on any other social network btw), but I wanted to express my sadness for losing such a great player, leader and person.

The 1st player I really got to watch play basketball on tv (back in those days, it was not an easy thing, as NBA games were not regularly broadcasted in my native country Serbia), even though I am a hard-core NBA fan since 1996 was Kobe. I was amazed by his game, style, and his pure competitiveness on the basketball court.

This man was never really the most athletically gifted player, was not the most skilled (the thing he became later in his career), nor he was the most experienced (he started playing very young). But his pure mental strength, the hunger to win, competitiveness and the grind allowed him to become (and be for a long while) the best player in the world. I always had great admiration for his achievements, and even more for the fact that he was an underdog all his career and has achieved more than most of the others ever will.

That same character trait that I saw in him when he was younger was named ‘The Mamba mentality’ and it was the reason I admired him so much, and got to learn from it a lot. I got to apply that same spirit and mindset in my life, and I have to say that it helped me build my character while growing up.

Many other people have already heard of the Mamba mentality, and were influenced by it, but for those who have not, I sincerely recommend you to look it up, and let it influence your life in the best possible way, just like it influenced mine.

If you expected this post to somehow be turned around to refer to my professional career, my company, or anything else – it will not, this is just a sincere testimony of how Kobe influenced my life

R.I.P Kobe, you will be missed ?

One of your many sincere fans, Dusan
