Malware on a Mac: fact or fiction?
Have you ever been told that your Mac cannot get a virus or malware? Do you believe that is true?
Over the last 2 weeks, we have seen at least 4 instances of malware on a Mac. All of these shared 1 thing in common: the malware got onto the Mac via an Adobe Flash Installer that wasn’t actually from Adobe.
From Genieo to MacKeeper to strange search extensions in a web browser, they can all cause problems when using a Mac. Normally, the warning sign of these kinds of problems is either a spinning beachball or Safari/Chrome searching the web using a site you’ve never heard of before with no images.
If you’ve seen any of this or have concerns about keeping your computer clean, we’d love to schedule a time to take a look at your system and advise on how to best proceed with the cleanup and prevent it from happening again.
