Malcolm X, Social Media and AI
Malcolm X - Man on an Empowerment Mission

Malcolm X, Social Media and AI

"Anytime we know that an unjust condition exists and it is illegal and unjust, we will strike at it?by any means necessary" - Malcolm X

I was introduced to Malcolm X as a young person and belived that he hated white people. Indeed, his early life experiences and the systematic racism he experienced led him down that road. After his pilgrimmage to Mecca in 1964, Malcolm was a transformed man that embraced the brotherhood of all men that stood against systemic oppression.

I watched the Spike Lee film in 1992 and found the story captivating. If you haven't watched it, check it out. Denzel Washington gives his FINEST performance as the enigmatic leader. The film resonated with me and while the times have changed greatly, the struggle for most is real.

You see, I grew up a first generation American with four sisters and two brothers during the volatile 1970's and high interest rates in the 1980's. We were poor. Earning income for me, and like many today, would only come from punching a clock somewhere.

After high school graduation, I proudly served in the military police before seeking knowledge at Ferris State University. I eventually became a police officer BUT quickly became disillusioned with that choice. As the 1990's closed out, I gambled on a career in the mortgage industry with the intent to help people I cared about make wise finance choices.

Two years ago I was promoted into a sales leadership position and began to focus on social media marketing. Social media started for me as a cool way to connect with old friends but when I learned social media marketing generated over $200 billion dollars of revenue, I was astounded. AI is projecting social media marketing to generate about $385 billion dollars of revenue by 2027.

AI - A Strategic Partner

Last year I started integrating AI as a think partner. My computer friend to bounce ideas off OR research areas that I was uneducated on. (For the record, I am NOT a fan of deepfake content, artificial videos or AI bot calls.) AI has helped me to develop better strategies and explore areas that would not have been accessible in years past.

There are many critics of AI that argue against it for various reasons...Lack of Regulation, they have philosophical, ethical concerns OR talk about job displacement. While critics make these arguments, the upside and opportunities AI brings is exhilirating. AI can empower ANY business professional to bridge knowledge gaps and educate on social media monetization.

“The future belongs to those who prepare for it today" - Malcolm X

The groundbreaking civil rights leader believed that people should control their own communities, organize and create opportunities to be self sufficient. Today, using social media platforms to connect, AI to research strategies and free teleconferencing tools, employees and the self-employed have never been better positioned to pursue economic prosperity.

While more consumers shift from social media users to pursue social media monetization, FEW individuals are seeing massive success. Seems most are scratching for answers and pumping out video's hoping they go viral. If you've read past newsletters, you know I believe in "Team over Talent" or as Malcolm X said - “When you’re part of a collective effort, you have strength because it’s not one man’s opinion or one man’s effort—it’s the effort of the collective."

Malcolm X lived in the days before social media and AI so my opinions are speculative. By any means necessary translates to me as YES, he would utilize the tech to empower others and fight against systematic oppression. I have every intention to continue to use AI to research, strategize and build teams of entrepeneurs. You're welcome to join me and the Billionaires that do.

Great read. I love your admission of what AI "Isn't" to you, and that it's best utilized as a "think partner". I can wrap my head around that.

Good article, Michael White. I think many people under estimate the power of Ai and think it's "cheating" to use it - until they actually use it.
