The Malco Theatre located in Hot Springs, Arkansas was built in 1946, however its rich history goes back much further. This documentary reveals the people, construction, entertainment, civil rights aspects and renovation of one of Arkansas’s most famous theaters.

Called “The Showplace of The South”, the “Malco Music Hall” diverse history began as “segregated theater” from 1946 – 1963. Becoming a 2 screen cinema in the 1980s, and the original home of the nation's oldest/largest Documentary Film Festival. The Malco is now the new home of the extraordinary illusionist Maxwell Blade Theatre of Magic.

Take a theatrical journey over 107 years of movies, mysteries and magic that are the very foundation of the Malco Theatre, its demise, renovation, and rebirth into the "Showplace of The South".
