COVID-19 Restriction of Movement Order Journal [ 18.03.2020 - 31.03.2020]

Day 5 : 22.03.2020

Routine, in an intelligent man, is a sign of ambition. - W.H. Auden.

Prior to the RMO, my workday routine is like this :

700am - 800am : Morning routine

800am - 700pm : Working in the office with management/team meetings/calls, clients/candidates meetings/calls and many more.

During this WFH, my new workday routine is adjusted as below :

700am - 730am : Morning routine with additional task which is preparing breakfast and others necessities for my girl to prepare her to start her virtual learning class which will start at 720am to 120pm via Zoom everyday. Seriously, this transition is not easy for children too. Imagined that she needs to go through 6 hours of VC just like us and there is no physical play times with her classmate !

830am - 1030am : Management / team check in, candidates/clients meeting via TEAMS/ Skype / Zoom / 3CX and others virtual channels

1030am to 1100am : Interval break to prepare snack for my girl and say hello to my husband at his workstation.

1100am to 1230pm : Continues with more VCs and calls.

1230pm to 200pm : Lunch with family. I'm truly blessed where my mum-in-law is always taking care of us with her home-cooked meals. Can't imagined I needs to cook everyday to be honest !

200pm to 700pm : Continues with more and more VCs and calls. Call it a day, hopefully !

It's quite a lots of distractions to be honest with the new routine. However, I'm definitely learning to take the distractions during WFH as blessings and taking this opportunity to learn to be extra kind and connected with myself and those surrounding me with more consciousness and appreciation.

I do hope you are able to take this opportunity to reconnect with your clients, candidates, friends, family members who you always thinking to call but couldn't find time to do so. Also, let's be realistic here, spending 24 hours x 14 days together under one roof is quite a lots to bear with. I'm not sure about you but it's definitely major adjustment for me because personal space is quite essential for me. With this lock down, technically I'm not able to have my ME time as I used to be. So if needed, asking a private time alone in a room without distraction, even though it may be just a 15 or 30 minutes break ! Trust me, this is not a demanding request. Especially during this pandemic season where we see the anxiety and stress level are increasing significantly across individual and community. Always remember, self care is not a selfish act ! It is an essential act for us to build and strengthen our mental health which is so critical during this challenging time.

During this tough time, #weareinthistogether so let's #flattingthecurve by staying at home and learn together to build deeper connections with extra kindness, virtually ! Stay safe everyone !
