Recipe books come with beautiful, glossed over images of what the final product of rightly mixing the ingredients and following the recipe should look like.
Strategies are pretty much the same. They are plans or approaches that are designed to achieve specific goals and objectives, remember the glossed image.
Strategies involve outlining the actions, methods and resources needed to reach goals, often taking into account the potential challenges and opportunities that may arise.
A winning strategy details the environment in which a business operated, the where, and the game plan to win, the how.
Each strategy has guiding principles that support decision making ;
Understanding Your Environment
Just as you need to know what your tools and ingredients are in baking, in business, you need to understand the industry and market you operate in.
Are you working in fashion, the gig economy, or another area entirely? Knowing your space is essential for effective strategy.
Identifying Objectives
My goal was to make bread, but the result was different.
In business, defining clear objectives—such as whether you aim to differentiate your product, focus on cost leadership, or pursue another strategy—is vital.
This clarity guides the business' decisions and actions.
Having A Winning Strategy
My end goal was a successful loaf of bread
In business, it's achieving defined objectives. Knowing how you intend to win—through product differentiation, cost leadership, or other means—is crucial for developing an effective strategy.
Do you know what your business strategy is? Or your life strategy is?
Do you know your where and your how?
