Making Your Print Runs Last Longer and Cost Less!

Good morning,
?
Print runs have increasingly become shorter over
the last few years.?
?
You know that even better than I do.
?
Wouldn't you agree this is an essential reason why
we are nowadays reconsidering the competitiveness
of Gravure vs Flexo?
?
And I completely understand, as a packaging
printer or brand owner, you always have to review
the current market situation.
?
What is the end consumer asking for and what are
their buying behaviors…
?
Ultimately, what is the most suitable printing
technology for you to grow?!
?
In the meantime, there is still so much we can do
for the most established technologies like Gravure.
?
If you and I think of all the advantages, we most
likely think about the resilience and durability of
the tools.
?
…enabling you to comfortably print any job length!
?
Now, we have been closely monitoring the reasons
gravure printing sometimes doesn't live up to your
expectations.
?
This letter is to address and share my thoughts
and potential solutions to this.
?
And even though I know you are doing great with
the lifetime of your tools, I still want to share this
with you.
?
So, what can you do to even improve the
longevity of your tools and save a lot of costs?

Costs to not only re-chrome or re-engrave the
cylinder.
?
A printing cylinder not working also means you?
must stop and delay your production.
?
That means, unload the current job – set up a
new job…
?
....and wait for the cylinder to come back from
your supplier and do the same all over again.
?
Maybe you also need to communicate potential
delays to your customer.
?
Isn't that the even more concerning part of any
production interruption?
?
To avoid any of these, I am suggesting following
simple and very basic recommendations.
?
But I need to emphasize that these guidelines
only help before the tool gets hurt.
?
As soon as the chrome layer is hurt and there is
any damage done to the engraving, it's already
too late.
?
Thus, you want to take action BEFORE…
?
And here are 3 simple tricks on how you
can improve immediately!
?
Obviously, there is a lot more I could show you
but why not start and explore how these ideas
could help you save costs, time, and stress?
?
Wishing you a smooth production and a great
week ahead…
?
Warm regards,
David
