Making your own Company on LinkedIn
You've started a company -- a brand-new company. You've told LinkedIn that you're working there.
The only problem is, you have a "ghost" icon for it in your profile's Experience section. When you click that icon, dozens of other people appear to work there, too. There could be pages of them before you in the employee list.
How do you become the only person listed as working there? After all, it's the truth!
It's easy -- generate a company page.
Now you may balk at the idea. You say, "I'm not a company, I'm just me." But keep in mind, LinkedIn simplifies everything. There's nothing else for your entity to be (except an Educational institution).
Now finding the tool to generate a company page is actually a little tricky:
From here it's easy to create your company on LinkedIn. There's even a place to upload a logo. A drawing file of at least 300 x 300 pixels is recommended. JPGs, JPEGs, and PNGs are supported.
I wish LinkedIn made it easier to create a Company page when you need one. So many people lose out by failing to do that. Don't be one of them -- it costs you nothing but your time to create a company logo and fill out the form to create a company.
