Top Tips for setting up a home gym
From simple sheds to extravagant conversions, setting up a home gym has become increasingly popular in recent years. Our top tips will help you get started.?
No matter how lofty your workout goals are, the space you have available will be your key factor when setting up your home gym. Whether you are converting your garage or working out in your living room, your space needs to work for you.
Top tip one: Keep it tidy, keep it safe
Smart storage solutions are vital for both accessibility and the safety of you and those around you. Keeping equipment like floor mats, weights and resistance bands neatly packed away will help keep your space safe and reduce clutter.??Adding some wall mounted shelves or a shelving bay and investing in storage boxes will help you manage your space and reduce trip hazards.?
Top tip two: Keep it insulated?
Keep in mind that the temperature of your workout space will most likely influence how much you end up using it. While the garage may seem the perfect option, once colder weather hits, it may become too cold for you to enjoy working out. You should consider what your space will feel like in all climates.
You’ll also want to think about noise reduction, especially if you are lifting weights or playing loud music. Our heavy duty gym tiles are exactly what you need. They offer shock absorption, sound insulation and the non-slip safety needed for weight and cardio training at all levels
Top tip three: Add a Bench?
You’ll need a bench for your workouts and to have a place to recover after a gruelling session. Your bench can also double up as extra storage. Use the space beneath it to store your work out equipment, helping to ensure a safe and tidy home gym.
Top tip four: Hang up cables?
Designate a spot to hang up items that can get tangled, such as jumping ropes and resistance bands. This will ensure that your items are easier to access and remain untangled. Our selection of wall coat racks with wider-spaced hooks will get the job done.?
