Making the Weight Loss Journey Easier

Healthy Eating Shouldn't Require Willpower!!

Healthy eating shouldn't be difficult. In fact, if you want to be a lifelong healthy eater, you have to make it as easy as possible.?

Someone asked me in the challenge group how they can stay motivated because they don't have a lot of willpower for healthy eating.?

I mean, how many times have you made a very detailed and ambitious plan for change, only to have it fizzle in five days??

It's frustrating. And you should never have to feel frustrated by taking care of yourself. Want to move on? My starting point is always to get curious about which healthy eating beliefs, or efforts you're making, require willpower. Your solution starts there.

Willpower is the lie that diet culture uses to make excuses for why complicated diets fail.?

Healthy eating isn't dramatic. Or instagrammable. It's the continued addition of whole plant foods to your plate. Sometimes, it's a?cozy soup that just so happens to have a gut-boosting grain.

Here are a few ways to make healthy eating effortless

  1. Make swaps.?Look for places where a swap is possible. Have chili every Thursday? Instead of making a salad, just make a?chili recipe with lots of veg. Eat a soft sandwich bread? Swap sprouted grain. Drink whole milk? Try oat milk instead.
  2. Don't have time to make breakfast? On Sunday, take 30 minutes to?create 5 freezer bags?of all of your smoothie ingredients. Then, in the morning, just blend up with some plant milk, and put it into a to-go cup (don't forget to soak your blender!)
  3. Just add a side of greens. Keep a clamshell of spring greens, baby spinach or arugula in the fridge. Plate lacking colour? Just toss some greens with a yummy dressing.?

We make this so much harder than it needs to be! Which is why I'll be here, week after week, reminding you to keep it simple.
