Extreme Networks is a global leader in the Wireless Networking Industry. Before meeting IndieWhip in 2013, Extreme Networks was in the early stages of building its global presence. Since then, they’ve earned Gartner’s Leadership designation and remain at the top of their industry.

When Extreme initially approached us to provide video support for their internal marketing team, we identified two challenges they needed to solve so they could efficiently produce video on a more consistent basis.

  1. Extreme needed a video production partner who could fill the role of a surrogate internal team to support production on multiple types of projects and platforms with varying levels of complexity.
  2. Extreme needed a video partner committed to putting in the time needed to understand their business so the marketing team could communicate with IndieWhip using comfortable industry terms and ideas.

Making it easier for Extreme Networks:

Throughout our partnership, it’s our responsibility to understand what's driving your needs so we can collaborate on effective solutions while speaking the same ‘language’.

In order for Extreme to leverage IndieWhip as an internal video department, our team is expected to have a full understanding of Extreme’s industry. To do this, our Account Managers make it a point to dive into our client’s shoes and gather a full understanding of their competitors and the full industry landscape. As a result, Extreme saw the value of a team that fully understood their marketing goals and made it simple to create the videos they needed to meet those goals.

IndieWhip’s responsibility is to ensure that any team can make video, all without losing sight of marketing’s big picture. With our commitment to process and Account Management, we made it easy for Extreme to maintain focus and momentum.

Optimizing the Plan for Extreme Networks:

IndieWhip’s objective is to provide you with a Production Plan that gets you to the finish line while remaining flexible and embracing any challenges along the way.

For their latest Global Conference Video, Extreme needed IndieWhip to adjust our process to enable participation around the team’s workload of executing several major acquisitions that were occurring during the event’s planning. This was accomplished by:

  1. Incorporating quick, upfront involvement of the broader Extreme Team to develop and align on the concept and initial treatment. 
  2. Generating multiple script variations for sign-off and approval across all verticals and stakeholders so production can proceed unencumbered. 
  3. Implementing a mechanism for the Extreme Team to shift away from the video and onto internal projects then confidently re-connect to the video in the later stages of Post-Production.

As a result of this plan, Extreme was able to create this high-impact video to greet their global audience without risking attention to the other initiatives that were equally important.

Extreme could maintain its marketing workflow around the production of the video, leading to streamlined participation and approvals on all levels.

Providing additional value for Extreme Networks:

Maximizing what your video budget gets you is always a top priority for IndieWhip, it’s also our job as video professionals to actually achieve it.

To extend value to the broader Extreme team, we tailored our process to account for high-level pivots throughout Development. IndieWhip then turned these into actionable scripts for approval. This allowed Extreme’s leadership’s contributions to the big picture to be more pointed, thus resulting in more focus and confident approvals in the final video.

It was critical for the video to be authentically inclusive. IndieWhip determined that adding subtle localization to the video by casting multilingual actors who could deliver the script in multiple languages was the most honest and cost-effective solution. Further, the hosted portions of the production were planned to occur with Extreme available and on-set, resulting in helpful and collaborative participation.

Extreme counts on IndieWhip to maximize their time and lead them to stellar videos they feel confident and proud sharing. After more than 8 years with IndieWhip, Extreme has the ability to scale their marketing initiatives with a process they can confidently repeat.
